I wonder how the trial is going to be perceived now that the head judge was removed for being deemed pro-Saddam.

Will it be seen as a kangaro court, out only to make it look like Saddam was being tried fairly? Will it be looked upon as being a long time coming?

Is this the first world leader that was taken out without actually being killed? I'm still surprised they are giving him one, the whole thing just seems like a circus.

Not the first... Most recent I would say was Milosevic. Although he died during the trial, with what is now being called a heart attack.

I have a problem with the judge being removed, anyone can tell that it was done because the judge might not giv ethe desired result. But with that said, the judge came out and told Saddam that he was not a dictator. Now lets be honest, during a trial if the judge comes out and says something like that, which is so far out there that it clearly shows a bias towards the defendent he needs to recuse himself or be replaced.

How is it "so far out there?" If you want to argue the merits of the election, I wouldn't fight that, but some people did knowingly and willfully vote for him. If the judge is one of those people, does that make him incapable of the job? (Certainly, if you're Tom Delay ;))

I don't know the context of the phrase, but maybe the judge was saying it to calm Saddam down?
