Mariah Mentions
--Yesterday on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," Winfrey and her closest friend Gayle King presented the fifth and final installment of their special, "Oprah and Gayle's Big Adventure." At one point during the episode, King was shown driving while singing along with Mariah's "Without You." Oprah was clearly annoyed by her friend's performance and jokingly contacted her security team to request a football helmet. Gayle responded, "You'd think I'd be offended, but I don't care."
--From USATODAY.com (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/al/tigers/2006-10-17-granderson_x.htm): (Curtis Granderson) He's a huge fan of Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, too, requesting an autograph this year through teammate Marcus Thames because he was too shy to ask. Yet, just one day, he'd love to have the nerve to ask Jeter what it was like to date singer Mariah Carey. "Now, if I could ever meet her," he says. Granderson realizes it's a long shot, but hey, a fella can dream.
