PHILADELPHIA - A federal jury awarded $24.2 million to two men who were severely burned by electrical wires when they trespassed onto railroad property and climbed atop a rail car.

So lets see, trespass on private property, get hurt while doing so, being somewhere you should have never been for being an idiot and get millions of dollars as a result of your own stupidity. This is a ruling that should have never happened, its simple the kids were stupid its their own tough luck for touching wires that have electricity running through them.

I have to agree with you 100% on this one! Stupidity should not be rewarded.

i dont understand how criminals are so protected these days. it really isnt fair, if you break the law then oh well if you get hurt in the meantime, its no ones fault but your own.

I remember many years ago a burglar was trying to break into a building through a skylight on the roof. He fell through, got hurt, and then sued the owner of the building for the injuries he sustained.

Then there was the convicted rapist in suburban Philadelphia about 20 years ago who, after spending time in the prison library, decided to sue his victim for taking away his constitutional right to liberty because she testified against him and had him incarcerated. He had no chance of winning, but she needed legal representation to fight the suit.

Frivolous lawsuits suck.
