Lynne Cheney novel churns controversy in Senate race (http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/10/29/cheney.lynne.novel/index.html)

...
Reviews have long described the book as "racy" and "steamy." Excerpts highlight a love story between two women and talk of sharing a bed.

"Sisters," which has triggered controversies in the past, returned to the news after Sen. George Allen, a Republican from Virginia, pulled up sexual passages that his Democratic challenger, Jim Webb, had included in his novels.

In a statement and list sent to the Drudge Report Web site, Allen's campaign accused Webb, a former Navy secretary of "demeaning women" and "dehumanizing women, men and even children" through his fiction writings.

Webb responded that it was a "smear" tactic and "desperate," and that in his books he had described things he witnessed in horrible wartime situations.
...

She was on CNN with Wolf Blitzer and said that "Jim Webb was full of baloney" for saying his novels contain the same sexual content as Lynne Chaney's. Watch Lynne Cheney discuss the controversy with Wolf Blitzer. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulAZzT0MUjU&mode=related&search=)

She says over and over again that these accusations are lies and distortions. How in the world are they distortions? Her own writing is on print!! Someone who can't own up to her own actions and lies on national TV over and over should not be selling children's books!

Lynne isn't (to anyone's knowledge--she's married to Dick, but that doesn't always mean anything :P), but their daughter Mary is.

Here's the hypocrisy I was hoping Brad could help me figure out: How come he always points out when Lefties are on book tours, yet it seems like Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly are on never-ending book tours themselves? The latter seems to have a book out every year, 2006 no exception.
