Beyonce's Daddy is Pissed Off
After his daughter, Beyonce, walked away from the Golden Globes without an award, Matthew Knowles expressed his disgust with a somewhat familiar sounding rant.
Knowles told reporters back stage at the Beverly Hills Hilton right after the Golden Globes show ended that his daughter was outcasted and overlooked by a bureaucratic good old boy system that is still alive in 2007 as it was in 1967. "Today is MLK's birthday and it saddens me to say that things have not changed for blacks. Working class blacks and blacks in Hollywood are still being discriminated against. We still have a long way to go," he said."
It would suck spending half your life shoving your favorite daughter down everyone's throat only to find out they don't like her as much as you do. Blaming white America for it is pretty much the only way to go in this situation. Well, it's either that or punching your daughter in the nose for not being good enough. Clearly, that's Papa Joe Simpson's modus operandi and look how well it's worked for him.
Note: Forest Whitaker, Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Hudson, Prince and the Dreamgirls movie won Golden Globes this year. Source

Well he must be disappointed, that's for sure. But why does he have to make this an racial issue? Jennifer Hudson won and she shares the same skin colour than Beyonce.
He just has to face the fact that he cannot always "buy" these awards for his daughter. Wasn't it enough that Beyoncé got Grammy for DIL, the song, which wasn't even a single? Or do I remember incorrectly?

I didn't watch the Golden Globes, but didn't Beyonce cry when she lost? I love Bee....but she does seem to think she's the best. I think those nine Grammy's went to her head

Well Papa Knowles must have repeated her about how perfect she is non-stop... I can still remember B's face when she lost the Best Female award to Christina at EMA 2003. She tried to smile, but it wasn't quite sincere.

Even if she had these feelings (although I really don't think she does), it's not about that...ANYONE with a clear mind would have chosen her to win Best Original Song for Listen. Out of the all the songs nominated at the GG's, it was clearly the best...too bad the Hollywood Foreign Press (or w/e) didn't think so. I mean, honestly, w/e the hell that crap Prince sang for that Penguin movie was nonsense compared to Listen. Not only did she nail all the notes etc, but the lyrics are very impowering and inspiring...it really pissed me off when "shorty" won...
I knew she didn't have any chance of winning the award for her acting, even though she killed her role in the movie. Everyone I know (personally) that saw the movie thought to themselves (b4 seeing it) "beyonce+acting=bad" but thought that she was fantastic in her role. They were really blown away. Yes, Jennifer did steal the show with her acting and singing, but there is no denying the fact that Beyonce also played her part fantastically!
That is all. (and this wasn't a stab at you, "ThoughtIKnewYou," just me ranting on about how I feel) :D

Deana isn't a character that these award shows chose to award, so in spite of all the buzz around Beyonce's surprisingly good job, that doesn't mean they would've awarded her. It's still an honor to be nominated, in spite of the fact that nominations in musicals aren't too hard to get.
Yes, Beyonce did a good job on Listen, but that doesn't mean it deserved an award. The HFP can see through the Knowles camp and figure out what they're trying to do, which is campaign their way into these awards.
