Drunk Driver Calls 911, 'Dares' Police To Find Him
COLORADO SPRINGS - A Colorado man is in jail for allegedly driving drunk, and then calling police -- essentially daring them to catch him.
Authorities say Alexander Craig was heavily intoxicated on Mar. 8 in Colorado Springs, when he climbed into his white Ford Escort and started driving. Craig then allegedly called 911 at least a half dozen times, admitting to them that he was severely drunk.
According to the 911 recordings, Craig was heavily inebriated and couldn't even remember his name when asked by a dispatcher.
"I don't know. I'm too hammered right now, man," the man, identified as Craig, is heard saying on the tape.
Authorities also say Craig seemed to be challenging them to stop him.
"I'm drunk and hammered and giving you guys clues... and you still haven't found me," the caller said.
Police eventually located Craig, and after a short chase, subdued him with a stun gun.
He now faces charges of drunken driving, eluding police and resisting arrest.
