View Full Version : History cares about presidents

History only cares about presidents, what they did and the events of their presidencies. We do not teach the lives of Senators or Representatives in school. George Bush understands this and knows that history will judge him a great president, one who defended America and western civilization in the wake of 9/11. Urged on by ultra-liberals Pelosi and Reid, Congress is trying to usurp the authority of the president as commander-in-chief. But George Bush is "the decider" when it comes to the military, not Speaker Pelosi. He will veto the bill tying troop withdrawals to funding. Congress needs to send him a bill consistent with history and one which provides our troops with the funds and supplies they need.

If you want to believe that history will judge Junior a great president, that's certainly your misguided prerogative.
Jim, I hate to say this, but you seem really impressed with your own opinions. On everything.

Impressed enough to cut and paste the same post to a whole lot of message boards. I think that's called spamming to get Google pagerank from the links.

Yes, history will shine postively on the man that got us into a war without purpose, the biggest military blunder in all of history.
Defending the free world, my ass. Bush isn't liked. A good way to see how a president will be looked at is his approval ratings. While he used to be at an all time high, he is now very, very low. And has been for some time. He had a chance to regin over the post 911 world. He lost hist chance.
Go ahead and believe people will like him, even if his presedency continues to head downhill.
Look at Pres. Clinton. At least he had a terrific economy. He'll be remembered for that or Monica Lewinski.
I do agree with you on one point: History will judge Bush for his handling after 911. Seeing how he went to Iraq, even though it had nothing to do with Al Qaeda, most likely will reflect negatively. Not to mention the loss of American lives.
An interesting aside to who writes history...academics. And seeing how academics tend to lean left...good luck.

I liked in that link the criticism of Abraham Lincoln and the absolute praise of GW. its absolutely ridiculous. Clearly a person who has no concept of anything important.

When you're an apologist for this administration, you really have no time to focus on anything else.

Eh, I read the person's "bio", which read like an intelligent 7th grader's report on what they did over the summer, so after skimming that, nothing else on the site had a whole lot of creedence to me.

Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone when he assassinated Kennedy. Conspiracy theories are false. The grassy knoll is a figment of the imagination. Oswald was a loner and a misfit. He was a marksman. He shot Kennedy from the 6th floor of the Texas School Book Depository as his motorcade passed below. He fled and hid in a theater but was quickly apprehended. Jack Ruby shot and killed Oswald. He said he did it out of sympathy for Jackie. There was no reason not to believe him.
gotta love this....this guy knows everything apparently.
wish i knew what he knew.

That might be a pretty limiting wish.

Mr. Colyer is long on words and short on sources. That makes for a whole lot of hot air blowing around.
