Military commanders are considering Prince Harry's future role in the Army after deciding it is too dangerous for him to serve in Iraq.

They are hoping to secure the prince's career amid suggestions his credibility as a serving officer has been damaged.

The head of the Army, General Sir Richard Dannatt, has said there would be "unacceptable risks" involved if Harry were deployed to Iraq.

The prince is said to be disappointed, but committed to his army future.

Er, what army future? :]

Seriously, the idea that we can pretend that Royals are the same as us other folk is silly nowadays, especially since it's all about celebrity and hype. He should just perform Royal duties and not pretend to have a 'normal job'.

And oh joy of joys we've got that nauseating 10 year anniversary of Diana to look forward to in August. :o

That said, I just find it a bit tedious, I'm not that bothered enough to propose getting rid of them.

But it IS rather refreshing to have a privileged son of a nation's leader volunteering to go to a war zone, even if it was never really a likely event.

Makes the party twins (and their father) look that much more irresponsible.

Unless his father and older brother both die, Harry doesnt really have any duties does he?? at least he is doing something honorable by serving. I know he has wanted to go to Iraq with his group (i forget what they are called) should they be called, his duty his to his country and I am sure he feels that going to Iraq with his army is his duty to his country.
