Halliburton should be barred from government contracts for 10 years or more.

they should be barred from any contracts for enternity.

My brother linked me to that video a couple of weeks ago. I have no idea how Congress can ban a video. Is that not an infringement on someones free speech?

I also dont see why congress continues to financially support these endeavors. it is absolutely ridiculous.

I think that some members of Congress didn't want it shown there, because that puts it into the official government record.

They can't actually ban it. At least not legally. Of course, when did a little thing like legality stop the Bushies? :greyno:

Exactly.

I really think that contractors have absolutely no place in a war zone, that's what we have our trained military for...they are trained for war, contractors are not. it's ridiculous. there pretty much isnt a better word for the entire administration and war other than ridiculous.

I would guess that some members of Congress don't want it shown because they have, or are still profitting from some of these companies. Would it surprise anyone if high-ranking government officials at some point either worked for, served on boards, or owned a whole lot stock in some of these private contracting companies *coughCheneyHalliburtoncough*?

And the saddest thing is that a fraction of Halliburton's massive overcharges would more than cover the minor bump in soldier pay and increase in military widow survivor benefits that Bush has theatened to veto if Congress passes it.

Bush and Cheney would rather pay billions to the Halliburtons of the world than a fraction of that to our own troops and their families.
