Hanson Preps Digital Outreach For ‘The Walk’

In advance of their upcoming album "The Walk," scheduled for July 24, the boys of Hanson are preparing a digital outreach that will reward one enterprising fan with a personalized song.

Since June 8, the band has been offering fans a free digital download for anyone pre-ordering the album from their web site. Fans can also download banner ads for the pre-sale offer and place them on their own Web sites and blogs.

Hanson will then write a song about the fan that generates the most traffic to their site. The song also will be given away to free for everyone who joined the contest.

You have GOT to be kidding me. I really cannot believe Hanson would actually do such a thing.... That's just........ too unreal.

Who knows? It hasn't been announced at Hanson.net, and I never completely believe anything Hanson-related unless it's announced there.

Well, you don't have to participate, then. I'm not sure I'm going to participate, but I'm helping other people out that are participating by clicking on their banners. And I actually think it's a pretty clever idea. A bit dorky. But then, we always knew Hanson were a bit dorky, right? ;)

the 2nd and 3rd place prizes are cool enough, but a song for a fan? ... eeeehhhh. writing a song for a contest? I just think that's ridiculous.
