This is what is referred to as the "Hush Rush" doctrine because that is who it's aimed at---yes, it is, and you know it. Anyway, the libs can't compete with Rush talentwise and besides, Rush has anywhere from 22 million - 30 million listeners (depending on which ratings service you believe) and that is a major thorn in the lib's side. So, they respond to it the way they always do---use the government or the courts to get rid of the competition... :]

Taylor Marsh asked about the Fairness Doctrine and Rep. Spence's amendment to prohibit enforcement of the fairness doctrine on conservative talk radio. Speaker Pelosi said this will not come to the floor, that she is solidly behind bringing back the Fairness Doctrine. Update - correction The wording was along the lines of Rep. Slaughter has made this her work to restore it (Fairness Doctrine), Pence's bill won't make it to the floor; they won't be able to stop the Fairness Doctrine through his bill, everyone knows my position on this.

Referred to by whom? Let me guess...by Rush????

How utterly pathetic that you consider Rush Limbaugh to be "talented." Since when is talent defined as the ability to be a blustering, self-absorbed fool? His ratings are no more a reflection of talent than Paris Hilton's popularity is. The ratings simply show that there are a whole lot of idiots in this country and that appealing to the lowest common denominator can make you rich and famous. Nothing new there.

As for Pelosi, there is no quote saying she's behind a return of the Fairness Doctrine. This is what is called right-wing rumor-mongering. Her spokesperson has labeled the story "false," but you neglected to mention that...
