So we have Bocci's bash and the Asbury shindig? Who else around this great nation has musical "to do's" for this week? Or just fireworks "to do's". I hear North Dakota around Mount Rushmore is incredible - I'm sure there are great things going on....

I've been to everyone since I was a child - from Little Silver me - but this year, I just can't - the world's sinking quick and the old way to stop it is to keep bailing. Have a great time there, Vinster - heard it was the 100th anniversary of Rumson too - should be cool

I'm kinda bummed...for the last 3 July 4th's i have participated in the music scene at the shore but not this year....gotta buy a new patio for the crib.

I remember one New Years Eve recently sitting in my living room here in this 1920's apartment and wondering what the New Year would bring - that's when I heard the distant crackle and looked out through my window and saw the fireworks off in the distance. My sense of burden changed to a sense of wonder. We're all children under fireworks - all that awesome power for our entertainment. Only in America, I sometimes think, do we cheer and dance to bombs which is oddly cool in its own way. Yes, I know everyone celebrates with fireworks....but only we have one single reaction when we hear them. No flinching.

Maybe New Years Eve is not far removed from July 4 and maybe Independence Day is a shared dream - the aspiration to be independent from all that is heavy and independent from all that is suffering and free to live in the pursuit of what happiness we can attain here on Earth. I think in recent years the fundamentally tremendous Jefferson message has gotten muddied - but not on nights like tomorrow night.

That sense of wonder, when you're with friends - especially on your own patio - is to me what is so freeing about these fireworks holidays. I first heard the "Rising" coming from the back of a radio van at KaBoom in Red Bank - and my girlfriend at the time was elated she could share that with me and it was a moment - one of the few - that I will never forget from that Park, from my time with her, and from, yes, Bruce. That timeless once only moment you first hear an important Bruce tune - and for me, it was Independence Night. History is indeed made at night.

But these fireworks do seem timeless, don't they? I feel as though people from the 1920's or some earlier days were as awestruck and smiling as we are now today at the fireworks' display. We are all tethered to this earth but freedom seems to be given real meaning when the night skies light up and explode. Shock and awe indeed. Power and might without the fright of fighting.

Bocci, all the best to you - what you do makes more people happy and free in their minds than most all of us guys on this board - hat's off to you and hope the rain stays away. You too Vini!!! Let freedom ring without suffering.:hat:

Nice post, admiral.
You have the number if you feel like escaping for a bit.

Hank, what kind of excuse is that?
We'll miss you!

David, not sure if that photo helps or hurts your arguments with Incident... ;)

Happy fourth, everyone. Personally, it's tied with Thanksgiving as my favorite holiday. Still not sure where we're going for fireworks. So damn hot and dry out here, might be a good day to go to the beach.

Happy 4th. We were fortunate enough to hit fireworks last night at the place I play soccer. Kids loved it, Dad was not too happy with the 45 minute wait to get out of the lot after. And received some Pony updates from Bigjohn. He sais as usual, the Pony had one bartender ay every bar and no Bruce sightings. Headed to Point Pleasant Beach this week and hope to finally take the kids picture outside the Pony.

Geez it's been a year already? Well, i guess it's not every year i get smooched by MHA so it will always stand out as one of those special days-LOL. Yep, it was the Pony...outdoors and the smell of the ocean and with rock and roll blaring---that always works for me.

Why did only one of you have an "all access" pass?

Nosybody. :blueeek:
Because one of them was either Drew or Rory for the day and the yellow is from another show but there was a Bocci pass on the other side.
Those things can be "borrowed" occasionally.

Last night, well, I just adore Robert Gordon, now both professionally and personally. He's quite the guy.

I'm struck by the irony that he's wearing a fisherman's shirt - very cool - Gordon's Fisherman's Shirt! lol You two look starstruck or tequilastruck - but happy!!

Seems you had a great time and that's what's important in this brief life. Enjoy every sandwich.
