I'm thinking of a term, maybe one word, maybe more. Guess my mystery term and I'll tell you how close you are, using my Google Guessing formula.

THE FORMULA:
'To find the score for any guess, google that guess in quotes to get its number of hits. Then google "guess in quotes""mystery in quotes" for an idea of how many times the two terms appear on Web pages together. Do "guess""mystery" hits divided by "guess" hits to learn loosely what fraction of Web pages they share, then multiply that fraction times "guess""mystery"'s raw Google hits total.'

George!

Huh? This is much too complicated for blokes like myself. Why don't you create a website with scripts that can automatically do this for you after typing the term, words, etc into a field provided?

I have a work buddy who is actually looking into this sort of thing right now. I personally don't have the knowhow. If YOU do, I don't see why you'd think the game too complicated. You needn't worry yourself about the formula; all ya gotta do is guess. Pretty much everybody has your reaction at first. It seems impossible, but you toss out guess after more educated guess, and sometimes the mystery will seem to solve itself, even while the guessers may continue to feel clueless. I've finished eight of these games at another website; in one the mystery was "Kevin Bacon" and with the whole scary universe to choose from at the outset, we solved it in 92 guesses. "False eyelashes" took us about 74, and it might have been 20 if we'd been more on the ball. It doesn't always go that smoothly, but I don't want to frighten you away.
