Jon Bon Jovi dropped into Ron Perelman's East Hampton pad for a party Saturday - literally.
The rocker took a helicopter from his appearance at the Giants Stadium Live Earth concert to Perelman's annual bash.

Among the 400 other guests (very Mrs. Astor) who picked their way through heavy police and private security were Mayor Bloomberg, Chevy Chase, Gwyneth Paltrow (on crutches), Shirley MacLaine, Richard Meier, former jailbirds Martha Stewart and Al Taubman, Kelsey and Camille Grammer and Ed Burns.

The Revlon mogul served a summery menu of fried chicken, brisket and macaroni at his Georgica Pond estate. (I guess billionaires like the same food as you and me - except their SpaghettiO's have a lot more zeros!)

Does anyone really believe that any of these performers or presenters are actually making the big sacrifices to lessen their foot print on this planet?
Oh sure they might get a green car.
But theres 2 SUVs in each garage.
Oh sure they might change a few light bulbs.
But what about all the garden lights and walkway lights and security lights?
Oh sure they might turn the thermostat down or up a degree.
But when you have 3 or more houses you can bet Juan and Maria are staying cool or warm when the man is away.
Oh sure they might have a cloth bag to use for food shopping.
But when Maria goes food shopping for the man shes using plastic bags !
Oh sure they might fly commercial first class occasionally.
But when they are flying to movie premiers,red carpets,awards shows,concerts, that Lear is fired up and ready to whisk them off at a moments notice. Or that helicopter is ready to take them from Rumson to Nassau County Long Island or from a Save the Earth concert to a party in the Hamptons.
Heres the bottom line for me in this. If Al Gore and company,along with the NJSEA, couldnt GREEN GS FOR ONE DAY then they are all hypocrites.

I doubt any of the major acts at Live Earth are making large sacrifices. However, I think that they believed by putting their popularity to use on 7/7/07 they could make a difference overall - and if they did it would certainly offset their footprint. To me it is lazy journalism to take a swipe at JBJ (and believe me I enjoy swipes at him) for taking a helicopter to East Hampton when plenty of others who attended that party and did not contribute to the Live Earth effort undoubtedly did the same.

The day he gets into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is the day I show up with squirt gun full of yellow glory to remind him that he's not from the top of the mountain but the bottom of the rock and roll urinal. Okay, that's a bit much - but he's about rock and roll as Journey.

I'm ashamed that people associate his fake celebrity-fueled actions and his egotistical self aggrandizment with New Jersey. I'm sure he had it tough on the streets of Sayreville. All of the negative things you say about him really don't make a difference... lots of people like him and the fact that you dislike him isn't really going to make a dent in his fanbase. If people like him then they just do... people have different tastes in all sorts of things. I'm sure you like some artists that people think are stupid. It happens.

I saw this Metallica doc last night - and they're just powerful is all = sheesh - and a DANISH DRUMMER (whose crazy Tennis Ace Dad my mom kinda knew in Denmark) - and they were just talking about how hair metal made them vomit and they formed and turned into the band they were in express disgust and rejection of what was fake IN ROCK AND ROLL. The sheer essence of rock and roll is a rejection of phoniness (phonery? phonositiy?). Say what you want about Metallica - they're not fake. They're the real deal - even if it isn't your deal. They didn't play to the market - the market played to them.

Don Dokken's toejam has more integrity than the bloated, egomaniac, haven't recorded a good song since 1987 (!!), whining crybabies in Metallica. They WISH they were real rock n roll. They've been trumpeting their anti-hairband stance for 20 years and it's like Paris Hilton calling out Britney Spears for bad behavior. Make-up wearing sell-outs. If the 1982 version of James Hetfield was alive today and could see what he became, he'd be spinning in his grave. (or something)

Metallica was once a truly great band with originality and passion. That died on September 27, 1986. They are a bigger bunch of poofters than Warrant and White Lion put together.
