Britney Spears was reportedly caught crying backstage after her performance at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards.

An insider told Us magazine: "She was really nervous and knows she screwed up."

Spears' performance at the Las Vegas Palms Casino was dubbed an "embarrassment" by critics yesterday, who claimed the star messed up her lines, looked overweight and appeared "like a zombie" on stage.

One critic writing about the performance, said: "It was little more than an overhyped burlesque show that went splat."

I jus watched the performance on you tube and it really was not good. She shoulda waited til she was 100% ready 2 put on a kick ass performance.
I so wanted it 2 b great, but it was a major disappointment, especially since it was in front of most on the music industry.
But hopefully, she'l come bk stronger afta this 1 and b even more determined 2 prove the critics wrong.
Keep ur chin up Brit!!!

So it wasn't that great... it's not the last performance of her life either. Everyone has their peaks in the business, and after what she's been through in the past year give her some time, she will come back stronger than ever. Stop focusing on the negative.

In the words of J.T. himself... "There's a war in Iraq."

There's more important things going on in the world than this frivolous mediocracy.

...And yet here we all are, having opinions on it.

Please, if we all wanted to focus on the war in Iraq, we wouldn't be watching the VMAs, or posting on LD for that matter.

If she rocked the performance, no one would be saying that.

I thought you said in another thread that the reason you like Britney is because of her drama? Because she flashes her vagina to the world? If you're a fan of a tabloid entertainer like Britney Spears, don't act like you give a **** about the war in Iraq .
