Britney Spears - "Gimme More"

"It's Britney, Bitch!." And with that, the women who launched a billion blog posts comes back. Timbaland protégé Nate "Danja" Hills turns out a spare beat topped with a buzz-synth bass line and a few squelcy flourishes, but it's Britney who's front and "center of attention," unleashing a maniacal giggle and moaning about - honestly, what else? - trying to dance up on somebody in a club packed with gawkers and cameras... you know, just livin'. Though this sexual metaphor masquerading as a song could easily be a castoff from Paris Hilton's debut, "Gimme More" is a also a sleek take on Spears' In The Zone-era synth pop that's catchy, but not as grabby as, say, "Toxic" or a pushy paparazzi.
