Music industry critics are saying that Britney Spears' performance on MTV could have ended her career. MSNBC's Tamron Hall talks to US Weekly's Joey Bartolomeo about the situation. Watch the segment, aired Wednesday (September 12), at MSN.com (http://video.msn.com/v/us/msnbc.htm?g=ddc2bc02-a472-40a8-acbf-9d0ed6e78b48&f=00&fg=email).

It wouldn't be if she took the proper amount of time off to realx and work on her issues.

exactly! i agree with the person above me..she needs to stop worrying about what ppl are saying about her career..and take time to take care of herself first

But Britney doesnt think she got issues. That's the problem!Your sig doesn't even have the right year.

Anyway if they are still talking about her it's not over one bit. For Christ sake's she's been over since Baby One More Time because even then they called her a "flash in the pan." Oh how wrong they were, and how wrong they are now. These people who just keep saying she's over are shooting themselves in the foot every time they talk about her they just keep making her more popular.

us talking about it will make ppl want to see her comeback more, but if she doesn't start taking care of herself and do what we all know she can do..music-wise..she wont have a comeback

I don't understand how 'talking' about her in this situation would make her career still live. It's not like Britney makes her living off of what Paris does--go to parties and act all flirty. Britney's an entertainer, not a débutante.

If we were talking about her VMA performance and how good it was of a comeback performance, then yes, our talking of her would make her career thrive. But when the majority of comments are negative, then that's a big red "STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING."

That's like saying that Milli Vanilli's careers were alive when they were being talked about after they admitted that they weren't singing their own songs. People talked about them for days and months! They are STILL talked about now! But that doesn't mean their careers are moving. It's the exact opposite.

nope. she wasn't over with her last album(ITZ) so why would she be over now? she's still relevant, she just hit a bump in the road as far as her music career goes with that performance. she'll be okay though

Her last album had a hot performance (Like a Virgin), good promotion, and Britney was at least mentally stable. Plus, she didn't have a custody battle to weigh her down.

I love Britney. Don't get me wrong.

And I want her to come back. But I don't want her to come back right now. I want another era of hot music, hot performances, and hot videos. I want her to be happy first.

No one should give a damn about her career right now, the woman needs her personal life sorted out first. Her career should be the last thing on her mind right now.

She's fading. It's sad that it took this long....but her becoming nothing more then a sad tabloid celebrity has kept her afloat.

Judging by her VMA's performance, she could care less about her career..

Gimme more may do well and even her album may do well but success depends not only on the quality of the music but on the artist as well. In order to have a great success and longevity which is what Britney should be persuing music wise, she should be a mature and grown up person, stable enough to support her career, someone with her act together.
She is so far from that is not even funny. She is not ready to make a comeback. At the rate she is going, this attemp will not only be the end of her career but her ultimate destruction. She is so NOT READY.

i told ya.. its over... she can come back after 5 or 10 years, but maybe by that time she'll be a starlet who needs attention from the media...

Her career ended when she got pregnant for the first time. She lost her looks and got fat after having kids. Huge turn off for guys like myself.
