I just wanted to start the thread back up to have a good conversation on how christina has a diverse fan base...oh and by the way I'm black and all my black friends like her and say she would sound better in R&B music..cause her voice is too soulful to be sanging Pop music.

Christina appeals to a very diverse audience, that's what's so good about her. My cousins who absolutely hate teen pop like Christina.

I didn't know you are black!!!! So am I!! And yes, she does have the African-American (black) fan base because she has a soulful voice. I love her and so does my entire family :)

Chris you're black? sweeeeet! :)
I am what you call a BMW (not the car)! lol black mexican and white! That's what we (my friends) in Waco call ourselves! lol People assume you like one thing or sing a certain way because of something so small as skin...sad..sad...sad I say!
That's one reason I feel so good about Christina's music because everybody can get a groovy vibe from it ya know!

Heheh...pardon me Janiece, my bad. :o:p:D

We've already had a similar looking thread somewhere in the archives. Good ol' Nik dealt with that one very nicely. :D

Sick, isn't it? That racism remains an unresolved issue in some parts of the world.

janiece81
Jan 27th, 2001, 05:41 PM
Exactly. And then she had the nerves to say that all blacks are racist  Not racist - just dont like people like her! lol

de7il
Jan 27th, 2001, 05:53 PM
Exactly, lol. Frankly, it amazes me how childish some people can get. They seem to think the Net is just one big playground for them to spread their filthy lies and whine about such things that we now consider a thing of the past.

She's lucky I wasn't here either Janiece.. I may not be black but that pisses me off so bad.. it gives other white people a BAD name.

Oh.. and to answer the people who asked in the other thread if I went to Howard before it was closed.. no I did not go to Howard.. I just knew people from there.

Are any of you also Teena Marie fans? I love most of her songs and I Christina covers one of them one day. She too has the most beautiful range and I love seeing her in concert because she always plays small venues so you get a real good view and a very intimate performance.

My all-time favs are:

If I were a Bell
Dear Lover
Square Biz
De Ja Vu (I've been here before)
Don't turn your back on me
Lovin
Fire & Desire with Rick James

whoa.

I read the other thread that's been closed

I'm not racist. And I don't live in a segregated area.

I've just had some bad experiences with african americans down in miami/ft. lauderdale but not blacks in general.

There are lots of blacks in canada and they are very welcomed here because canada is not a "white-canadian" country, it's a multi-cultural country.

Actually I think and know for a fact that canadians get along better with visible minorities than the americans do so don't you be calling me a racist!

I'm a visible minority myself(french-canadian/philippino) so I apologize if I offended anyone......I mean this is all in writing, if I had said that 'rude comment' to you in your face you would have understood me better.

Again, sorry if I offended anyone but whatever I said I would say it again because that's the way I feel.

I'm black too and most of my black friends love christina. They all say she's got to have some black in her because of the way she acts. And by the way I live in Miami and have yet to have a bad experience so Miami is not all that bad.

I'm black and all my cousins love Christina and dislike..well you know who. I think once Christina's second LP comes out, it should sell over 1mil the first week because she not only as caucasion support, but Blacks and Latinos. :)

But us blacks know we don't get albums for a couple weeks. ;)

Yeah, there are a lot of blacks on here. Since I'm black, I feel more like at home. Anyhoo, yeah most definately, when her album drops, she will be on covers of Jet, RightOn, Vibe, and maybe BET's website. I see a lot of articles in RightOn! about Christina. And actually, she was on the cover of RightOn! on the October issue. :)

yeah it's kind off true that she sounds better in r&b. I think she sounds good in blues or rock too. YOu know that song she sang on her tv special, it's kind off rock, omg!! she sounded soooo good...i always rewind and watch her sing that over and over again. I love that song although i don't know the title.

I really enjoy chattin on this board cause this is where the real peoples are at the True No Limit Soldiers!!!!!!Lets make um say uuuuuuuuuuuh NA NA NA NA!!!!!!!.:D Yea whatz been happening i haven't posted in awhile cause of online classes but i'm very proud of us coming together to support one of the best talented singers since whitney houston and janet jackson(Miss jackson if your nasty)and her name beezzzz you know her name Ms Christina Aguilera.:D I am really proud of her and how her songs are for everyone no matter what age you are.;) Whatever type of music you like you will love her music. My only prob is that she doesn't receive as mush exposure like her fellow muskateer:( I think christina deserves alot more exposure than what she is receiving, and with all of us the black fan and multicultural fan base i think we can get her noticed even the more by word of mouth and supporting her every album.;) So come on lets make her the reigning ultimate DIva in 2001. Like the words of our reigning R&B diva Love will find a way!!!!!!! Lets make the Reflection of christina become the shinning star of year 01 Peace out to all BALI'S
(BLack And LoVin It) :D

I definitely agree with all of yall comments I am black and I am a christina fanatic christina does have the soul in her voice definitely. That's why christina appeals to a lot of people because she is real and that R&B side just comes out when she sings but whatever she sings whether it's country or jazz, blues she sounds beautiful everytime. :):):):)
