I have yet to see a show on this current tour but wondering what everyone thinks of this as the last song of the night? I have heard mixed reviews, most of them actually pretty strong in favor of this song.
To me, I guess if the crowd is electric after this song ends and there is absolutely no way he is going to do another song, that is sad. I believe in rewarding a great crowd with an extra song. I know in past tours, there would be a set song for the closer, but as the tour progressed Bruce would begin to add additional songs if he felt the crowd deserved it. Hoping the same holds true for this tour.

I've not been to the show yet but have listened to several. Here's my thoughts:
1 -- I totally get why bruce is playing it in the context of his message on this tour/album so far. It's an upbeat song with a cynical message.
2 -- It pretty much sounds like Seeger Sessions but without all those players (not sure how they do it...)
3 -- It's not really a rock song so it ends the show on a weird, off-key note. Makes you pine for the days of LOHAD, but I think that's too optimistic a message for Bruce these days
4 -- A friend who was at the Philly show emailed and said simply: "Great show. Lose the Irish jig at the end."

To each their own, I loved the Irish jig at the end last night.

I'm bias as the Segar Sessions to me is the best non-E St material Springsteen ever did. Not gonna have Jeremy and Curt there every night but Dan & Roy both playing accordian is tremendous, solid closer could be a whole lot worse. "There's treasure for the taking for any hard working man who makes his home in the American Land"

Song is decent and remember that it is his song, not a remake. It definitely works in the context of his current message.
I think it will stay as the show closer for this leg. Hopefully, he will adopt a policy of rewarding crowds like the one in Philly Saturday night with a nugget at the end after American Land.

Friday the song was strange, most of the crowd was unfamiliar with it
SAT the few of the energy created by the DITD lead in.
