You have some educating to do. Mr. Hollis thought the Beatles were 80's music.

:(
How does this happen??
I mean John DIED in 1981.
:noway:
I guess if it didnt begin on American Idol, some people just have no idea....lol :

My heart just broke. I really wanted to see where Abbey Road was, and no one really wanted to while I was in London and I never pushed for it (because i pushed for westminister abbey and the like) and i just google earth-ed it and wouldnt you know it, it was like 3 blocks from where we were staying SO RUDE i tell you. My disappointment is beyond words. and I am still sad I didn't get to liverpool.
as I told Hollis, I think he has something against white guys with guitars. He claims he dislikes rock and roll, and while the beatles along with Elvis really created Rock and Roll, it's really todays pop music. Plus the beatles medley from the Celebrity tour was freakin perfect, even my mom liked it and my mother hates most beatles covers because she is an avid fan. She saw them live in 1966 and paid $6 for her ticket. Can you imagine seeing someone so legendary for so little? I'd kill.
I remember watching this special on them and apparently John left Yoko for sometime and was living I think in Malibu with another woman who had convinced him to reunite with Paul, Ringo and George, and he went back to NYC to break things off for sure with Yoko and get some stuff back etc, and never came back (I believe he changed his mind and then was shortly thereafter murdered) This lady (I cannot remember her name or who she was) broke down in tears, not because he left her but because the beatles were going to reunite and did not. tears poured down her face. the power of the band is really so grand, I don't think the world has ever experienced another love like that since.
I saw someone spell since as "sense" the other day and it made me want to smack someone.

$6 fror the Beatles! I can't even imagine in this day and age of overpriced concert tickets. How awesome that concert must've been. If I remember correctly I believe Pinks saw the Beatles live twice. What an experience I'm sure that was.
I'm not really a fan of their stuff but that's simply because I've never really been exposed to it. What I have heard was good.

They were awesome. So many of our favorite Pop songs of today were originally their songs. I LOVE their movies. So hiliarious.
Lanie you should really look into their music more, I think you would like it a lot.

Yes, I didn't know off the top of my head BUT.... it's not like I don't know anything about them AND same goes for you miss, what if I asked you about some artist that you really don't listen to. You wouldn't know...
I see the big deal, but c'mon now. Plus, it's me... you just have to expect things.
... oh, and American Idol did have a lot to do with me learning older artists. It's not a bad thing though.

I would know the genre and time frame that Aretha Franklin was popular, same goes for the Supremes etc. I would know that Diana ross was in the Supremes.
go ahead, quiz me on the time frame that one a HUGE mega star produced influential music that touched every person in the world. just be sure to keep it as something so completely broad, as the beatles are and not some obscure christian gospel singer from 1972.

for someone who sells himself as such a huge music fan, you'd think he would know that the beatles are not from the 80s. im teasing. relax.

Sparks, John died in 1980, not 81.
The name of the other woman was May Pang. She had worked for John and Yoko for a while, and Yoko actually pushed them together, never expecting that he would leave to live with May. May did encourage him to try to reunite the Beatles, but I'm not sure that was ever going to happen. He and Yoko had gotten back together in the mid 70s, and were together the whole time from then until his death, although I don't think May was completely out of the picture. But Sean, John and Yoko's son, was 4 when his dad was murdered.
There, education complete! :p

Oh, and I did see the Beatles twice, in 1964 and 1966. The tickets for 1966 were $5, but the cheaper seats were only $3. :p

Man, I knew it was 80 or 81. lol my bad.
Thanks for re-exlpaining that story, I knew my facts weren't straight but the general idea of the story. May broke down completely and said it was going to happen and once he went back to Yoko all plans came to a screeching halt. So sad. I wish I remembered where I saw her discuss it. I looked her up on wikipedia just now and it explained her and that time further. I am interested in reading her book.
and seriously, twice? I am envious. Maybe my mom paid more (for nosebleed seats too) because it was CA and they could get away with it? lol
Did you hear Paul and Heather can't come up with a divorce settlement? He has so much money, once I did the conversion to American dollars, i became even more dumbfounded with his wealth. lol

I haven't heard the details. Rumors were circulating about her getting around $60 million (or was it pounds, not dollars? ). I could find that acceptable, as long as she agrees to just go away now.
I also heard that when she showed up in court, someone was walking behind her with a wheelchair, in case she needed it. Supposedly she's had some problem with her amputated leg that occurs every now and then. How absurd! It had to have been just for sympathy, as if she's going to get any of that.

i heard anywhere between 20-70 million pounds (still when you have 825 million pounds, not too bad) but she refused to commit to a gag order.
I am sure the wheelchair was for sympathy. If she can dance with that brace then I am pretty sure she can stand up in court.

Exactly!
And, at this point, I think it's worth that much to Paul to just get it behind him.

Yeah I agree, but I think he really wants that gag order, and I can't say that I blame him.
OT but baking a cake from scratch is nerve wracking.
