Whew! I just had to say it.

I was on my nightly iPod walk, and Thunder Road hit in the shuffle. Once again, I was blown away by what a complete masterpiece that song is. It NEVER gets old.

From your lips to Bruce's ears - BRING BACK THUNDER ROAD! Play the whole damn BTR album for that matter.

Seriously... anything on BTR is gold. I'd love to hear Tenth Avenue and Jungleland as well. But Thunder Road is tops.

..... I've always said that one of these, in my spare time :funny: I'm going to pull out all of my boots and put every version of Thunder Road I have on one CD so I can appreciate the evolution of this song over the years and the special spin Bruce puts on it, depending on his mood and the circumstances. One of the few songs that never gets old for me and never fails to give me goose-bumps. "It's a town full of losers and we're pulling out of here to win" I'm in complete agreement with you on this one. Jules

If I'm not mistaken, someone did that about 2-3 years ago. I seem to remember a vine at either Greasy Lake or SPL that had a CD that had 11 or 12 versions of Thunder Road on it.

I'm not sure if I have it or not. I will have to dig through the boot boxes when I get a chance and see if I have it.

One of my favorite versions is when Bruce guested on Melissa Etheridge's unplugged show. You could tell it was a touching moment for her and they played a great version.

And of course who could forget the Storytellers version I was lucky enough to see in person.

That's one of my favorites as well. I love Bruce's ability to play with a classic song, but keep that original Bruce vibe.

You're absolutely right about that. It never, ever gets old! There is a bootleg called 25 years down Thunder Road that has all the versions on it, from Main Point '75, when the song was still evolving, to the duet with Melissa, to the one where he forgets the words. But my favorite version of all time is the one on Live '75-85. I still get goosebumps every single time I hear it.

By far the greatest song to be blasted while driving... although it's easy to get caught up in the music and forget where you're going

No wonder its harder to write great songs today.

And it's an easy one to sing -- I used to sing it to my kiddies when they were babies -- without messing up any of the verses!!!!
