i will be there and partying somewhere beforehand, but am not familiar enough to say where. i figured someone would post info during the week. if i score GA's in a drop, i will need proximity to the arena. i know there is a greene turtle there, but i'm sure it will be mobbed. my favorite bar in OC, MD.

Green Turtle will probably be next to the GA line. Also other places would be Gordon Biersch at Courtyard Marriott about 2 blocks west of Verizon away and across from the Spy Museum, and an Austin Grill about a block south on E Street.

I believe that D.C is an official MoRiley travel club show since all the travel club VPs are attending so I suggest you contact them for pre-show details as I will be sitting at home waiting to hear INCIDENT by cellphone once again.

So all of this chatter and still no firm plans. I see Mickey already has Albany planned right down to the after show cocktails in Piwi's room once the bar closes....and that show is a couple weeks away.
I don't know about this group.........sigh.

Is Piwi is now officially offering up her room in each city she is touring for the rest of the tour....wow. Very generous indeed. I'll bring the Absolute and Redbull !!
I guess the official pre/post party is in Piwi's room ...LOL !

Did someone say Absolute and Red Bull? I'm in! Piwi, I'll help stock the bar (and deplete it, I'm a great multitasker).

DC is the only shows I can offer anything up for as my tour closes in DC........probably. How far a drive from DC to Pittsburgh??
Anyway, I can tell you are a true german Piwi, WHITE wine.....you germans do like your sweet whites. Being from Southern California, I can offer up some GREAT Central Coast Paso red wines ( very fine Zinfindals and Syrah's) or maybe some over oaked Chardonnay's.
The Patron, that stuff does some strange things to my personality , so you're on your own there. Coming all teh way from across the pond, you may need some of that Redbull !!

I'm here reading. Shouldnt we have the post Albany party in a hotel room where the bar is? No drinking and driving!
For me to have the party in our room,I`ll need to talk to my room mates ;)
Unless someone else can offer their room thats staying in the Crown Plaza? I`ll bring coolers just to be prepared ;)
Stocking them wont be a issue with the group thats going to Albany

Here is the thread I started.....I guess it kinda got hijacked and turned into a where to stay thread.
As far as where to hang out, I am not sure, I was hoping someone else could figure that out.
Something close for the GA folks would be good.
My apologies for not following up on this.
ANY suggestion?

The key my dear, is SUGAR FREE Red Bull, with lots of Absolut and little red bull.....you should get about 4 drinks from one small can. And to make it better, try using Manderin Absolute ;)

Well, the only time I had this combination was at Irish Bills in Innsbruck, Austria. I'm not sure whether that was the first mistake or not, but I do know that even the smell of Red Bull makes me nauseous..... I'll take your word on this one, though, Randy. :hat:

#1 is the Green Turtle Pub and another bar called Drinx
#2 is District Chophouse, more of a restaurant
#3 is Fado's Irish Pub, which looks pretty cool
#4 is Da's
I like the looks of the Fado's Irish Pub. Anyone else care to weigh in? Sounds like the Green Turtle is already crowded...

I looked up Fado's. Looks okay. They show silly Andrew style football, though, that day. Hopefully, they will be cleared out by then. It is an NFL Sunday and since we have plenty of time to kill, hoping to find a place that has plenty of games on.

I'm down there today...I'll look for the pub & let you know what things look like...Pretty much, everywhere will be packed since there's no tailgaters...

....I just spoke to someone at Gordon Biersch, which is at 900 F Street, which is a block away from the Arena. They have a small private room, which holds 30-35 people with a TV that we can put any football game available on. There are other TVs on the other side of the room with various OTHER football games on (that should keep the Princess happy), plus food and many cold beverages. They are going to call me back to let me know for sure the room is available and if so, it's ours. If it's booked, we can commandeer a section of the bar area. Told him we'd be coming and going and he said that was fine. What's the general concensus folks? Will this work for this disorganized DC crowd? Comment away.....

I'm waiting for the Events/Banquets Manager (a she, didn't get a name) to call me back, if you'd like to stop by and inquire, that would be great. I told them we'd be coming and going from 2-8 p.m. that day and they seemed fine with that. If they need a number, I think you could safely promise them 25 people. Thanks Janey. Okay Julie...
I'm @ GB's right now...now I've switched to a San Fran lemonade to counteract the coffee that's giving me heart palpitations...
This is the deal...just spoke w/ the events/banquet manager, Abbie...She didn-t recall her conversation w/you...saying she's spoken to a bunch of people this a.m. Sunday is available from 2-8...Mon. from 3-8...Don't know if she told you there's a $500 drink minimum <Yikes!!!>...My advice unless you wanted that...is, the plce is really big...lots of bar...lot'sof little areas to hang out...If people are coming early, an area can probably just be commandeered...isn't that what you said? Anyway...since she didn't remember her conversation w/you...nor did she mention the $500 minimum ................
RedHeadedWoman
Nov 7th, 2007, 10:39 AM
..spoke to the young man who answered the phone who was going to have her call me. However, he did not mention the $500 drink minimum spend to me either. Allrighty then, on to Plan B, since I think trying to coordinate that drink minimum thing will be more than I want to deal with before I've had several shots of Patron. I say we just commandeer an area in the bar and be done with it. Works for me. We will likely arrive in time for REAL football at 1:00, mosey over to the arena for wristbands and then head back for more beer, shots and food, prior to the 5 pm. walk back over to see if we are celebrating lining up on the rail, or coming back for more beer, shots and food. Gordon Biersch it is then folks - - look for the usual suspects in the bar area being our normally disruptive selfs. I'll help Doc pick out an appropriate hat to wear, so you can spot us easily. Let the games begin people - - we have a Pre-Show! Thanks Janey. I love recruiting new victims to this Tour Director schitt.....
