I am curious why there hasn't been many, if any, reviews from the troops of the mid-west shows? Cleveland and Detroit seem to have the best set-lists to date with little, if any, eyewitness reviews. And, please tell me there will be southeast shows in the Spring!!

Here is my short review of some of the highlights from Detroit and Cleveland. I was looking for a word that described the Cleveland show Finally I saw it today- Detroit was such a fun show, but Cleveland was a classic with Saint and Kitty's back. It was so cool to hear Bruce whispering. I kept remembering what dari said that back in the day, Kitty's Back was what BTR is to the shows now.:music:
At the Detroit show we (my brother and I) decided to get up there about 4 which didn't work out because we hit stopped traffic and rain just north of Detroit. We finally got there in line at 4:45 and got our wristbands. Then they stated lining us up by 100's, luckily inside because it was raining, cold and dark outside, like Bill D said. There were steps going up to the main concourse with dividing rails so they started lining us up there. Luckily we both went out to the car quick because we weren't allowed to leave the line again. Eventually all 745 of us are on the stairs. We were near the top and could hear the soundcheck. Recognized I'll Work for your Love!!!
So they finally picked the #175 about 5:50, and we found out we were in! By the time we got our second wristband nobody was in order, just dashing up the stairs, but we made it about 12 rows back of Clarence. There were mostly tall guys, but I got a siteline, and by the end of the show, they had shifted so I could see Clarence and Bruce straight on- SO COOL. The first 6 songs were the same as Cleveland then WOW Jackson Cage- that was cool.
Then I knew if he was gonna do it it would be now, And he goes here's a debut and turns to Roy, then do we have any lovers out there?, any lovers out there?- and he went into I'll work for your Love!!!! He made the sign of a cross in front, and touched his mouth when he sang the 2nd verse, then kept touching his left hand to his chest like a heart and on the part where he says 7 drops of blood fall, kind of put his hand down to the floor. Then at the end he half bowed. It was So cool, and I wished you all were there too.
Then towards the end this little boy in the front had been waving his arms all night, and all the band was laughing, and after Girls (oh this one was for the Michigan girls, and the Jersey girls, at the Cleveland show it was for all the Ohio girls and the Jersey girls) he came down to the boy and must have asked him his name, and took the sign (green RAMROD PLEASE) and said well we haven't played it in 5 years, but.... and all the cheering... then wellll...... and then ok. It was really good, my brother loved it, cause he knew to yell out Boss time!!! The boy got Bruce's harmonica after PR, Max's sticks, Clarence's necklace. Wow.
On American Land- I didn't see it - I just saw Suzie trying to get her violin straight, but my bro said Bruce was leaning down and came up and cracked her violin, and she had to quick retune it. They were both laughing and he hugged her at the end.
One more thing, don't know if they did this in Cleveland. On TOL, Patti used Bruce's mike too, and he's strumming the guitar and they are So close singing, and she may have touched his lips a couple times, he was laughting, and had a big grin when they were done.
This tour the band is tight, having a blast and are a great joy to see. Cannot wait for round 2!!!!!

Di....a great review and highlights!! I think those are the sort of things people love to read about. You didn't mention the part about your brother...his first time doing GA and only his second Bruce show, how he was explaining the GA procedures to everyone who asked in Detroit. :) I hope we get to do another show together real soon, and David too. :)
One more thing that I remember that he did in Cleveland....can't remember the song and I didn't take notes this tour, but towards the end of one of the songs (maybe Long Walk Home) he turns his back towards the audience, and he is standing there and it seemed the spotlight was just on him and Max, and Bruce closes his eyes and just seems absorbed in the song and the drums....it reminded of how he used to do My Hometown back on the 1988 tour. (I think that was the one....me and my fellow tri-state tramps tell ourselves we need to write down all of our adventures so we can keep all the tours from running together).

Deena, I think the song was Devils Arcade. He did it again in Detroit where he and Max just stare at each other, with that white hot light, and the pounding drum!! Thanks for the kind words about David, I didn't want to brag. He loved knowing what was going on, and then getting into the pit. He was all afraid we'd be in the back but we were good!
Kathy, your pictures were great- they show the intensity of the band from up close. Do you think the guitar shot was from Reason to Believe? I remember in Philly the camera man panned all the way up starting with his boots, HOT! You are so right about the guitar solos, still so intense...
