C'mon, folks! Show your support and buy up these tickets. We have to keep demand for Bruce strong going into 2008!

Frankly, I think it was a pretty dumb move to put another show on sale here so soon after the last one.
Unless its any different in that part of the world to this, most folks are worried about (in no particular sequence):
- recession
- credit squeeze and interest rates
- gas prices ready to top $4 a gallon
- the Holidays and the upcoming expense
oh - and probably paying off their early tour dates bills...........
If the pattern at other shows is anything to go by, there will be plenty of tickets available closer to the date too.
Being a tad selfish, I also hope some of these "repeat" shows do go down the toilet as it might be the kick in the ass that Landau needs to try "new" markets - STRONG HINT - like San Diego.

For the past few tours (with the exception of SSB) St Paul and Minneapolis do not have huge drops. The show last week had a small drop a few days before the show and a small drop the day of the show. VFC had a very small drop day of the show, and both D&D shows had very small drops the day of the show.

Landau & Co were obviously trying to generate some impulse buying here by announcing the next show as soon as the concert ended. With ticket sales as weak as they were today, you have to wonder if quite a few fans just didn't like the show enough to shell out another 100.00 to see it again.

Maybe. I know some people didn't anticipate having to spend more money this soon, and some object to shelling out money 4 months in advance. For me, I decided if I couldn't get the tickets I wanted, I'd wait and see.

I agree with Daven. Gas and heating costs rising. To much can happen to those two items before the show itself.
And then theres the holidays.
This show should have gone on sale in late January.

I think there is another reason people might be holding back. They don't know where else they might take in a show. I would be very grateful to Bruce & Co. if they would let me know NOW what venues and dates they have in mind next year.
I sell Real Estate in San Diego and it isn't going so well right now! But I would have popped for the ticket to night one in Oakland if it had gone on sale at the same time as night two (the former night one). But to have to change airline arrangements just made it too expensive.
Same thing with LA. I already had a pricey ticket to Neil Young on LA night two which I would not have bought had I known Bruce was going to compete for fans on the same night.
Then again, maybe I am not a true fan. I used the Neil ticket.
and yes, Dave, San Diego would be a great place for a show. Old School. at the ancient Sports Arena.

Does anyone know if this type of announcement (at a venue) and rapid sale for one Bruce show has ever happened before? (not including holiday shows or rehearsals)

All your points are valid, which is why I am not jumping at the prospect of an April Orange County date. Its a matter of wait and see.........
Regarding the Sports Arena, I've seen Eric Clapton there this year and recently Fleetwood Mac, The Stones, The Who - just to name a few top acts. Its time Bruce got over his bias against San Diego although unfortunately I think its more likely that he'll vote Republican before that will happen :(

whilst venue announced and odd onsales have happened before this one St Paul was truly bizarre because of the electronic ticker announcing it even as the house lights were coming up after last weeks st paul show....
who knows what landau is up to this time I certainly don't but let's hope that he remembers there is a whole section of the country that is WARM in March/April and where he forget to send Bruce on tour during seeger sessions and rising stadium leg....
Florida and Georgia need some Bruce shows soon!

Even holiday shows have some rumors beforehand, lol.
It isn't even the rapidly approaching sale date that surprised me, it was having to purchase tickets 4 months in advance. That is the sort of thing I expect from The Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney, but I don't recall having to shell out the money this far in advance for Bruce on past tours.

i am pretty sure we had to buy tickets way in advance for some of the stadium shows - giant stadium comes to mind and i think my pac bell ticket was bought in may and the show wasn't until august 2003.
i remember at that time how ridiculous it was to have to buy tickets that far in advance.
i guess landau thinks once they announce a schedule, we should go ahead and buy the tickets on staggered dates as soon as possible (except LA when they couldn't figure out the dates until less than a month before).

I remember buying tickets for the stadium shows and parts of other Bruce tours in advance too. This St. Paul only announcement followed by rapid ticket sales is odd, especially when the show is still months away.

My first thought when I heard a second St. Paul show was announced at the end of the first show was "someone must have some good pictures of Landau doing something bad" to pull that one off. Nothing against St. Paul, but there alots of other places that won't get Bruce even once and deserve a first show more.

Now Atlanta has been announced too. This will continue to be an interesting tour. Wonder where and when Philly will be?

based on the routing of the tour one would have to guess that Philly and the otehr 100 shows on the I-95 corridor would be in may
