I thought I'd post some pics from this weekend:

I'll spare you all the details from this weekend, except to say that the ceremony was rather boring. But we did make it back to the hotel in time to watch the insanely pathetic OSU/Michigan game so kudos to the Wright State staff for conducting a fast ceremony

Aw, Lanie, you look so happy! Congratulations!
(The green gown doesn't look as bad as I pictured it. Maybe that's because green is my favorite color.)

At the wedding I was at I walked to the womens room (which was our changing room prior to the wedding) and i hear the men all talking down the hall, and ih ear scores thrown out (the men's changing room had a TV) and i go in and there is a crowd of men watching the game during the reception. lol I thought it was hilarious.
Congrats lanie! I like that shade of green. I also agree that you would have gotten through everything with or without Pinks and Ho, they aren't that special ;)

Yup, Saturday was the big game. It was really lame, actually. My brother went but he had the flu and was too sick to stay so he missed the 2nd half. We told him he didn't miss much.
And thanks for the congrats, all:)

Congrats!
Wasn't the actual ceremony awful though? Mine was painful to sit through and I remember thinking "4 years for this?"
I highly doubt I'll even walk when I graduate next.

Thank you. And yes, it was awfully boring. The only cool part was that the professor who read my name at the ceremony was my first professor at WSU. It was kind of a cool way to end things

Mine was boring, but I sat with friends from the department and we enjoyed ourselves by making fun of all the other departments. It was good times.
and Pinks, you might have power...it doenst make you special. Look at the Idiot in office. :hah:

What? You don't think he's special? Remember, there's good special, like me, and then there's short bus special, like him.
Besides, he doesn't have any power, Cheney and Rove were the real powers.
SparkleHugs
Nov 20th, 2007, 12:13 PM
ah yes, what was i thinking. I forgot about the two types of special, you fall into neither catagory ;)
and, were?? psh. Cheney still has the real power.
pinky
Nov 20th, 2007, 12:38 PM
Yes, but Rove doesn't.

Nov 20th, 2007, 01:35 PM
True. Why cant we get rid of Cheney??
if Cheney died, who would be VP?
lost_n_justin's_smile
Nov 20th, 2007, 01:49 PM
I think it would be Condeleeza Rice. We always learned the order of succession if the President died but I forget it now and I don't know if the same rules apply to VP
SparkleHugs
Nov 20th, 2007, 02:19 PM
I think the President would get to choose whomever. if they both died, Nancy Pelosi would be president. I figure, impeach them both and lets put up with her for the next 14 months.

I'm pretty sure that Bush would get to appoint someone to serve out Darth's term, with Senate approval needed.
At least that's how it happened in the 70's, when Spiro Agnew was forced out, and again after Ford became President when Tricky Dick turned and ran.
SparkleHugs
Nov 20th, 2007, 10:32 PM
Pinks, who do you think is worse. Tricky Dick or Bushie?
pinky
Nov 21st, 2007, 12:54 PM
Nixon was smarter and more evil. Pure evil.
Bush is just stupid, but savvy enough to surround himself with evil people.
Nixon did more damage to the country; Bush has done more damage to the world. The country was able to repair the damage done by Nixon, but there are too many things resulting from Bush that we can't control, so he's probably worse.

I would say too bad Nixon was smart enough to resign when the country hated him, and Bush isn't.
But Ford was a way better alternative than Cheney is.
Have you decided who you're voting for in the primary yet?
pinky
Nov 21st, 2007, 01:43 PM
Joe Biden. I think he's by far the most qualified.
I don't think Obama has the necessary experience, and I don't want to vote for Hillary, because if she wins, that would mean that the White House will be controlled by just 2 families for at least 24 years. I don't like that kind of concentration of power.
How about you?
SparkleHugs
Nov 21st, 2007, 02:02 PM
I had not considered that if Hilary won. It's a really good point.
If the election was tomorrow, I would probably go with Hilary, because our views align quite a bit. But I am not dedicated to anyone at this point, I like Clinton, Biden, and Edwards. I still need to be won over. I also like Kucinich, i just know he will never win and our views don't align enough.
my brother is still trying to get me to vote for Ron Paul, but im not changning my party just because my brother likes someone...lol

Lanie, what made you decide to take the year off instead of going straight to grad school?
My year off has been nothing but PURE BOREDOME. I cannot find people who have the same interests, I cannot tell you how many times I have talked about things of interest to me and i Have been told to shut up. its annoying.

Sparks, it was kind of meant as a time to recharge my batteries so to speak. I was SO tired of school by the time I finished that couldn't imagine going back right away. And, since I finished in August it kind of had to happen since most Grad programs for Social Work start in late August, which would've given me about a week to move across the country and get settled.
I'm glad I did it. I'm bored out of my mind, and I'm kind of regretting the decision to move back to my hometown but I have gotten the chance to start writing again, which I love, so that's a plus. I like just having 'me time'.

I wish I could have done something right away also, but I really didn't have a choice but to wait either...
