On another note. I saw where Louisville beat Rutgers again. Didn't help UL's season much, but...still.

I know, I know. Still it was nice to end out a crappy year.

My #1 lover boys are going to the Cotton Bowl. :D And Rutgers is playing Ball State, right?

Yes, Ball State in the International Bowl. My son is in the band, and his section (tubas) has been trying to learn how to play O Canada, even though I don't think they'll have to play it.

I forget, you like Missouri? (They were robbed, btw)

Oooooh, I'm good at remembering Bowl games.

Oh no you didn't Pinky. :noway: Arkansas..all the way! But yah, Mizzou was robbed. Their coach gave an interview and just said..'The Cotton Bowl, we're playing Arkansas?!?!' kinda like WTF is wrong with these people.

While I'm at it, since I'm pimping doing away with the BCS. Let's do top 16, 3 weekends, we'll get #1.

Oops! I'm sorry I got your team wrong.

I think that a playoff would make a lot more sense, especially after looking at the whole BCS ranking system this year.

#2 was an absolute curse. How many #1s were there? And Ohio State didn't really play very strong opponents compared to a lot of other schools (sorry, Lanie, but you have to admit it's true), so why are they in the championship game and teams like West Virginia and Missouri aren't? Who can really differentiate among them?

Sad for McFadden, coming up against a guy like Tebow. Although Ray Rice's numbers were truly comparable to McFadden's. The only reason he wasn't given serious consideration was because of Rutgers' record.

BCS has really screwed over alot of college teams that deserve to play Bowl games. You did know when Hawaii won I believe last weekend. The coach had to put up the biggest fuss because they aren't sanctioned (I think I got that right) by BCS. SO they weren't going to get a bowl. How messed up is that.

I agree about Ohio State.

Well, I'm okay with McFadden losing the Heisman to Tebow. Tebow is very humble which makes it easier as an Arkansas fan to lose to him. Also, his team played harder games, and his coach pretty much pimped him out more to the press. Pretty much all UA fans knew McFadden would come in 2nd.

I was reading about Rice on some sports website. And like you said its because of the team. Same went for Brian Brohm from Louisville, he was the talk of the town at the beginning of the season, but because UL did poorly he was dropped from consideration halfway through the season. Same with Andre Woodson from Kentucky, he was up for it. His team played like crap (although I'm not too messed up about that, since I dislike UK greatly).

What's Rice's # in the NFL Pick? I know McFadden is the number 1 pick and Brohm was at 3 & Woodson @ 10 when I checked a few weeks ago?

I don't care who OSU played, I am glad they are there.

Watching 'em lose 3 national championships in 13 months will be great. :)

Nothin' to apologize for, pinks. It's the truth. Kent State, Youngstown State, and Akron aren't exactly known for their football prowess.

Not to mention I'm still disappointed about how they played against Michigan. I've seen high school games more exciting than that one.

Ohio State definitely got lucky this time. I'd love to say they're going to obliterate LSU but that's just not gonna happen

Former 'N Sync singer will sing National Anthem at Steelers game
By Regis Behe
TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Saturday, December 15, 2007

Chris Kirkpatrick thinks he has a way to ensure the Steelers winning seasons: Invite him to sing the National Anthem every year.

"I sang it three years ago, and they went 15-1," he says. "I sang it the next year, and they won the Super Bowl. Last year, they didn't invite me."

And last year, the Steelers went 8-8.

Kirkpatrick, the former 'N Sync singer who was born and raised in Clarion, Clarion County, again will sing the anthem Sunday prior to the Steelers game against Jacksonville.

"I grew up watching all the Pittsburgh sports teams," says Kirkpatrick, who has lived in Orlando since 1990. "Now, I've gotten to go to the Super Bowl and to sing the anthem (before a Steelers game). It's like my contribution to the team."

Kirkpatrick, 36, contributed to another type of phenomenon when he was in 'N Sync. With bandmates Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone, JC Chasez and Lance Bass, he experienced a rarefied success and recognition he could not dream of growing up in Clarion.

The financial awards were nice -- the first thing Kirkpatrick did was buy his mother a house -- but the other aspects of fame were not as appealing.

"It was really difficult, because I did grow up in such a poor atmosphere, in a blue collar town where all my family worked at a glass plant," he says. "And then, suddenly, I'm thrust in the spotlight and I'm hanging out with celebrities and people who have been well off all of their lives. It was very uncomfortable, because I never felt like I belonged.

"But at the same time, if it wasn't for this, I wouldn't have had the house for my mom; I wouldn't be able to make music all the time. It was definitely not my social scene."

Kirkpatrick feels more at home in Clarion, where he has a large extended family. Some of his favorite memories are of family gatherings where music was prevalent, especially at Christmas time.

"My grandfather was in bands; my great-grandmother was in Christian bands," he says, noting other family members also have been musicians. "It was always fun for me to watch them when I was growing up, and it was natural for me to fall into it. Seeing my aunts and uncles doing it made me want to do it, seeing how much they enjoyed it."

Noting his aunt, Marcy Eustice, and her blues band Strange Brew, Kirkpatrick quickly adds that he's probably "not even in the Top Ten" when it comes to the family's vocal talents.

Currently Kirkpatrick is gigging with a new band, Nigel's 11, that he hopes to further develop in 2008. He's also in the process of establishing a foundation, which he hopes will provide aid to young musicians.

"When I grew up in Pennsylvania, we were really poor," he says. "We went through a lot, with welfare and other things. For me, to be so blessed with what I have now, I want to give back to other kids who might have grown up in (Clarion) or even down here in Florida. I want to be able to say, 'I've been through what you've been through; just keep doing what you're doing.' I want to try to help them out in little ways, with food or electric bills. There are definitely a lot of impoverished and underprivileged kids (with talent)."

If you'll look over to the left side of the video. They have the other video that I couldn't get before. The one where Chris is talking about why he loves the Steelers. Really cute.

I'd like to add I feel like Chris' pimp/bitch the last week or so.

Aw, poor Chris. That's a hard enough song to sing a capella, but in wind and snow, too?!?!?!

He sounded pretty good!
