Everytime I finally picked dates with my friends something went wrong... and then there was the strike that lasted 3 weeks...

Laryngitis

Lance has had larygitis since wed. He is trying to get better fast, and could be back in the show by Sat night.


I don't know what to do... my friends and I were going to try their lotto and then if lost see what tickets we could still get... but I don't know... sure he could be feeling better, and he could be back to the show tonight but then not feel well enough tomorrow. Why am I completely not allowed to see him? Uugh!!


Sorry you're not gonna make it here during his run, Lanie -that's too bad :(
(at the rate I'm going I am here and am having trouble seeing him). The Hairspray move is pretty awesome though!! hehe

oh well, I WILL be going with or without my friends, but its getting so close to the holidays its hard to have the time to go into the city and all.. so I still have to even find the time when I can go. It's times like this I wish I lived in the city at least...

If I can't make it by the time Lance's run ends I'm gonna wait and see if they ask Nikki Blonsky to play Tracy or Zac Efron to play Link. They've both said that they'd love to do it and if they're ever asked to do it I'll be the first one in line to buy tickets

I loved Nikki in the movie, I thought she was so perfect!! Zac I liked more than I expected to, but I've seen enough Link Larkin's that I love so I wouldn't run right there just to see him although it would be cute if they brought them in together. :) I know there was talk about doing that, but I think both of them have had other offers right now... but who knows what will happen.

Laryngitis

Laryngitis/Bruised Vocal Cord

Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that Lance saw the doctor for his Laryngitis yesterday. He found out that he has a bruised vocal cord. OUCH! His doctor told him that he shouldn't even attempt to sing until Friday.

He is going back in tomorrow afternoon (Friday) for a follow-up visit to see if he is able to do Friday night's show. He is so antsy to get back in the show ASAP!!!!



So next Wednesday, I took the day off from work and am planning on seeing him then. I have 2 shows to try their lotto.. haha hopefully, I'll have some luck and he'll be on.
Sucks that he got so sick and has had to miss so many shows... hopefully he'll be better soon...

and hopefully, I get to finally see him. hah

Yay! I finally saw Lance today!!
Did the lotto and actually won, so that was lovely.. Lance from the front row! He did a great job, really took the name of Corny Collins to heart. haha He was sooo cheesy but it worked very well. I enjoyed it.
His voice is too low for the part regularly so they actually lowered the key of the songs he sings, but he did well with it... it just was weird since I know the songs already.

Afterwards it was a bit chaotic at the stage door, but he was as nice as can be and even in the huge crowd tried to stop and sign for everyone and take pictures with whoever asked. I couldn't believe how nice and accommodating he was to everyone really. I'm glad I was able to finally go and to get a quick picture with him too. Yay!
I'm going back to see him again January 2, which is right before he leaves... although it sounds like there is somewhat of a chance he may extend, so I hope he does. Very fun though and he was really super nice! Just figured I'd share :)

So I went to Hairspray again last night to be able to catch Lance again before he leaves. (I'm still mad at myself for not getting there sooner than I did but there was much working against me) Anyway, so instead of risking lotto my friend and I bought tickets... b/c she wanted to see him so bad and well, his last is this sunday.
Welll.... he wasn't on last night. We didn't even find out til after we were in the door and our tickets already scanned. Suuuucks. $65 and no Lance. :(
At least I have seen him once, but my friend was really upset. We're trying to see if there's any way to get there again before Sunday but yeah, I don't think I can spend all that much again. I do hope something works out!

It's a real good thing I highly enjoy that show on the whole! ;)

So I did end up seeing Lance again. My friend and I, the one who went with me when he was out the other night, were able to score second row seats for his last show yesterday. I really don't know how we lucked out, I guess it must have been cancellation tickets or something since the show seemed to be sold out.
I'm glad i did get to see him twice, considering the amount of time he was there and how much I go to Broadway shows I should've seen him a lot more. Anyway the show was extra great, everyone seemed very excited. Lance definitely looked like he got a bit teary by the end of it all. Last shows always seems extra special, you can see in the whole cast, ya know?

Our seats were on the side in the front and I could see a little into the stage right wing, and during Motormouth's huge dramatic number "I Know Where I've Been" I happened to see Lance like shimmy dance by off stage in his sparkly suit he wears for the finale. I couldn't help laughing a bit.
He even got extra curtain call love and the girl playing Tracy mentioned it was his last show and then did the usual "everybody let's dance" that they always end with.

Outside at the stage door was pretty chaotic. My friend did manage to get her copy of his book signed (which I had gotten her for Christmas) and we also each got really squished pictures with him. Then we ended up more out of the barricade crowd and near where he was heading to his car, so we got a group picture over there since it wasn't the uncomfortable barricade looking pics. hah Even in the crazy crowd he was nice as can be greeting all the people, signing, picture taking... moved pretty quickly but never seemed like he was rushing, just trying to get to every person. Very sweet.. his whole attitude and manor is just very nice and extremely accommodating to every person that he can.
On a more superficial note, he looked really hot last night too!! I love the brown hair on him and he was wearing a pinstripped blazer... and just looked gorgeous.

So now, I've officially met 2, only 3 to go... except I don't get the big idea of that happening.. haha
