He needs to start getting the song-count number up. Bring back the intermission--do something!

If you have a burning need to stay longer you could always help clean up.

I would pick up every empty beer cup in the arena if he played River-era length shows again. ;)

Why does he have to start the show almost 1 hr after the 7:30 start listed..??
I realize that it his perogative, but if he started on time, that's 1 solid hour to maybe slow down the pace of the show, and fit in more songs.
Is it me, or does it seem like he is rushing thru the songs almost like he has to catch a 10:45 plane back to Jersey.
Dont get me wrong, he rocks his ass off, and puts on a great show as usual, but that 1 hour late start can really do alot of good for the show. If that is possible.

...whine, whine, whine. Bitch bitch, bitch.
Why doesn't he play longer? Why does he start late? Wah, wah, wah...jeez....
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are on tour, supporting a killer new album, in 2007/2008, and doing it at a cheaper ticket price than most of the bands out there. I'm just fine with that, and any way he wants to do it, I'm fine with that, too.

I agree. it does seem like he's rushing. and what's important about that is that it used to seem like he had no better place to be than on stage performing. it is weird that he barely takes a break the entire set.

Been to 6 shows and the only one where it seemed as if he was "rushing" was the makeup show in Arnhem the night after he was sick. BAM... thing started at like 8:10 and it seems like it was over by 10:15. Now, sure, there was a show the next night in Mannheim (not sure if they have one or two stages in Europe leapfrogging each other), and from what I heard he still wasn't feeling anywhere near 100% (and he had to work his ass off for that passive Dutch crowd).
As far as the other shows being "short", we're still getting almost the same number of songs as all recent tours, 22-25, without 20 minutes of shtick filler, which, these days I could do without. Now if he wants to take that extra 15-20 minutes and go back to the Darkness or River era stories instead of the shtick, I'm all for it. Otherwise just give me 25 songs and I'm a happy guy, even if one of them is Santa.
And there is a real difference between short shows and shows that seem rushed, at least IMHO.

Excuse me? I don't see how you can interpret what I wrote as whining or bitching. Quite the contrary, I think Bruce and the band sound tighter, better and are equipped with some of their best new songs in 20 years. I'm saying bring it on, play longer! If they're getting too old and can't sustain energy, take a break. How about letting Nils and Steven sing a couple of songs while Bruce leaves the stage.
As the shows get shorter, Bruce is losing his leverage as a "great deal" in live music. His tickets are $100+ and he doesn't have much of a production set....No inflatable dolls, etc. ;)

Just a quick note, about the "start time"....and one perspective, if I may....
Alot of it has to do with how full the venue is at the "scheduled start time", sometimes due to possible traffic congestion near/around the Venue, which might affect the start time. Seems to me that "just maybe" Bruce would rather "wait" to begin the show when the Venue is not even 1/2 full.....now whether you interpret that as Bruce being "considerate of the fans, so they don't miss anything" or whatever else you might chalk it up to.....well, that's up to you!
BUT I must say that on Oct. 30th, although we left home in plenty of time to reach the Sports Arena for the scheduled 7:30 PM start time, we got caught in a "hellacious" traffic jam on the west side of LA, due to a Freeway accident shutdown. We kept calling Toots & Douger who were already inside the Arena asking, "Did they start yet?, driving Tootser crazy, ......soooo we were SO RELIEVED (sp?, "i" before "e", except after "c", etc...:D ) that when we finally reached the Arena at 8:30 PM (ONE HR. AFTER START TIME & 2 Hrs. after we left home for a normal 20 minute drive) to find that they/Bruce/whoever? had postponed starting the Show until 8:40PM. I could hear as we approached the Arena that the show hadn't started yet, so I asked one of the Box Office personnel..."why the delay"? She told us that the Band's personnel were aware of all the traffic problems and chose to delay the start till it appeared most everyone had made it into the Arena.
Read that as you may....all I know is I was D*MN GRATEFUL for the late start! :sunny:
I said it was a QUICK note...didn't I...oh well :noway:
PS: As for me, I'm also just so grateful that after all these 30++ years, Bruce is still touring and KICKING A*S....the shows may not be as long, the setlists may be shorter than we'd like, but hey.....for me.....I made it to that show and He's Still the Boss!!!" and I'll be there for the next ones......as long as He's there! :music: :music:

Good points, patter (and thanks for the reminder on the I before E rule ;)).
As for the "why does he seems rushed to finished" perspective, maybe you're not used to him finishing his shows in such a fury -- BTR, DITD, American Land. Sure, in the past, he would finish up with Detroit Medley or Rosie or what not, but the last song would be something slow or reflective, such as the acoustic Born to Run or Blood Brothers.
Reminder: We're not going to get too many tours like this in the future. So, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.

The Philly Spectrum show in '99 also started over an hour late - I am sure due to traffic problems getting to the venue.
