So what do you REALLY want? Concert tix.... World Peace.....a new car.....a soulmate....etc.
Let's see what we all REALLY would want, if you could "HAVE WHATEVER" you really want, no restrictions, money or otherwise.......or whatever you want to say.....Let's hear it!!!
Hey does anyone remember a VERY OLD song called "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth"? I remember hearing that when I was just a little kid ...along with something like "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa"??
Anyway, let's hear what's "REALLY" on your List....should make for some interesting posts.....

Be careful what you wish for Deena. I can have a Blackberry and by choice do NOT. It can be an evil device that teathers you to things you may not want to be teathered to 24/7.
Happy Holiday to all and I am in at GS in acceptable (for me big upgrade from last row upper deck far end zone) lowers around the far goal line on Sunday.

Pitter Patter- I wish for a Led Zeppelin reunion tour and a Pink Floyd Reunion tour. I doubt it will ever happen but since you asked.
I have reluctantly accepted a Treo PDA through work and I am having too many operator difficulties with it.
On the goodside I received a Ipod Nano the other day for my B-Day. Lucy is good to me.
Life is good. Speaking of world peace though. I would accept that too.

I`ll be serious for once too.
I have so much to be thankful for. A warm house.A dog who is alive, engaging and alert :) :D :sunny: Thank you Rimadyl. I have close friends who actually like me
I can actually say that I "need" nothing.
Now if I had alot of money,I would get extravagant items.
A new van, lazik surgery, visit Bon Jovis Dentist and take my friends to Tahiti for 2 weeks :)
The only thing I truly want is for us to get out of Iraq.
NOW!
Merry Christmas Everyone !!

For a serious moment -- even though I don't personally celebrate Christmas -- I have a lot for which to be thankful. Many of you know our youngest son has been developing asthma. This fall, we planned on being out of our house for a month while it was being "de-allergized" -- remove the carpets, resurface the wood floors, sanitize all the HVAC vents, paint inside/outside, etc.
Well, one month turned to nearly four while we lived in a cramped apartment without a working stove. We are blessed that we all have our health and are sleeping in our own beds again -- without having to worry about disturbing our neighbors downstairs...
We are still mentally and physically exhaused from this crazy year, so I'm looking forward to our holiday break to spend Christmas week on the beach in a pretty little place near Ensenada, Mexico, down past San Diego way, where I'll get to flop on the beach all night and all day...

Firstly,I'd like for people to stop beating & torturing their kids ..then there wouldn't be such a need for my line of work...and I could do something else...
Secondly, I'd like for everyone to magically come equipped with common sense & then use it...even if lawyers tell you otherwise...
Thirdly...I'd like to ride my motorcycle westward alongside Bruce in search of the finest tequila bar...just because it would make for a kick-ass story to one day tell...

well world peace would be good!
we are fortunate like mickey to be
safe and happy - our dog is insane -
but that's a story for another day...
if i could have anything - something
personal - i'd love to spend one more
day with my mom - who died in '04
i was lucky enough to have had a great
relationship with her - so no residual guilt
but just to be able to talk to her would
be wonderful -
hell, could i just wish to have her back -
permanently?
merry & happy to all at LD - hope the
holdiays (whatever holidays they are)
find you happy & healthy
all the best!

In all honesty... a happy, healthy family. It's been a tough year for us, so I'd be glad to just share the holidays with the people I love and be able to enjoy their company.
Some summer stadium tickets wouldn't hurt, but who's asking ;)

I would like to have exactly what Dudley wants....a wonderful wish that can't be but we can wish anyway.
Also I would like for Danny to be able to return to the band healthy and happy. Just hope he knows how much he's missed and how much we appreciate his work over the years.
Happy holidays to all of you.

Hey Dudley & For You....
My heart truly goes out to you....thank you so much for sharing something so personal. My Mom is 92 and we are separated by 3,000 miles. Everytime the phone rings now, I find myself panicking. For most of us, they are the most important person in our lives. I really wish we could make each others heartfelt wishes come true, ......take care, both of you!
Tarik...enjoy that trip....you all deserve it!!!
Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts.....can we keep this going???

"guess no matter what - and how old

How absolutely true, Dudley. Here's to all of us missing our dear Mom's, especially during the holiday season. And here's to friendship, which helped get us through the roughest spots!
As for what I want for Christmas: my decorations, which are still way up in the attic (reading this, Mr. Radio? Hmmmm?)
We're a little behind this year....

Patter, enjoy those phone calls, even if they do strike a fear at times. It's when you know that you can't get them anymore that it really stings.
Dudley, I feel your pain. My Mom died in early November this year, only about a month short of her 90th birthday. Ironically, her death made me feel the loss of my Dad (he died 14 years ago) again, and this time a little harder. Funny how you spend some of your years trying to distance yourself from your parents and showing that you are your own person. Then, you get older (and wiser) and want them to stay around forever.
All I want for Christmas is to have the reports from the oncologist remain clean. Handling those back-to-back shows in Philly in October in the company of great friends was a great start!
Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year to all!

Sending a prayer up for you Faithful Man that you get your Christmas wish, as I'm sure you will!!!
Thanks to all of you for all your kind, loving words....I just try & remember to enjoy all the moments left when you get "those" phone calls where you're reduced to feeling like a 5 yr. old at times, still hearing, "don't go out with a wet head", "are you dressed warm enough...where's your hat & gloves" (my Mom's in NY, BUT I "live" in CA), ....but I guess we are always "children" in our parents eyes, no matter HOW OLD we are!! There's something both frustrating, yet still somehow very endearing in all of that, so I'm certainly not complaining!
I know alot of people are away or busy so the Board is kinda slow now, but I'd love to hear what you have to say if you're still hanging around right now.....what do 'ya REALLY want for Christmas or maybe your wishes & dreams for the New Year??? :)
Best wishes all..
Patter
PS: Mr Radio...time to get your BUTT up into the attic...PLEASE!!!

Faithful Man: My wish for you is that clean report.
I also fall into that category of wishing for one more conversation with a parent. My dad passed away 2.5 years ago and there are still days when I want to ask him something or share some story with him. My relationship with him was rocky for a long time (hence, I think, my deep connection with Bruce's music), but as he got sicker, a lot of that fell away.
Patter: I remember those phone calls well. All you can do is breathe deep and laugh when it's a telemarketer....you and your mom are in my thoughts.
As for wishes, I hope all my friends here at LD get their wishes, stay healthy and enjoy lots of great music in the coming year.

I already got the best Christmas present. My son John (2nd grade) had an assignment on who his hero is. His was titled "Why My Dad Is My Hero" and gave the cutest reasons. Made me cry a little. Once it comes back home from school, I will try to post it here. I have never received anything that made me feel the way that did.

Funny. I used to call my wife my hero. She got mad because she felt it put too much pressure on her. Okay, sheesh, you're not my hero anymore... ;)

I would like all the money back in my bank account I spent on Bruce over the last 30 years.
I would also like to be on the next leg of the tour traveling and partying with Bruce and the band, all on Bruce's dime.........oh yeah, with a nice seat ON the stage night after night.
One more thing, I wish everyone here gets thier wish to come true.
Not too much to ask eh?

"what we all REALLY would want, if you could "HAVE WHATEVER" you really want, no restrictions, money or otherwise.......or whatever you want to say.."
you said whatever, so....: (in no particular order)..and of course who doesn't want health and peace?
* a time machine so I could see a 1978 Bruce show--that I only missed by this _____ much
* A leisurely around the world trip with my family, hitting all the high spots (literally and figuratively)--or just to join crazyjaney6 on the motorcycle tour
* one of those professional organizer/work crews to get our house and garage in tip top shape--eliminating all clutter
* another 2 hours, at least, in each day, plus time to stand still for awhile so I can better enjoy my children and family at this stage
* a Leica camera
* a TagHeuer watch
* to see a space shuttle launch at night
* Part time instead of full time job---same money/benefits. Well, wait, since this is wishing, 10 times the money. Heck, enough money so I can choose to work/volunteer whenever I wanted...or not:biggrin:
* a surround sound system throughout the house where not a creature is stirring....
* to be able to say "I like that song, get on my ipod", and it happen right away
* a good blender
* for Patter to keep on the caffeine or whatever has inspired her flurry of posts
* to get my circa 1978 Born to Run cover signed by Bruce and all the band
* a Blackberry so Deena and I can send Mickey pictures to post of Bruce from the front row of the pit in Cincy:)
....and I'm still thinking

But Im scared of the attic. I successfully avoided getting the tree out of the attic by buying a new tree with LIGHTS!
Aren't ornaments overkill?

your attic must look
like ours!
as far as ornament overkill
if you have enough lights -
if your tree is a blazin'
then its probably okay.....
