I thought when I checked TM I would see another 3 or more shows added to the Giants Stadium series. Are they not selling well? Is there a new strategy for adding shows?

He may add shows later but wants fans to take the 300's first.

Plus they're smart enough not to add shows at 1 or 2 in the afternoon in the midst of the Christmas shopping season when the casual fans they want to buy tickets are in the stores buying gifts.

I'm sorry Joe.Using the word smart and refrencing how tickets went on sale or will go on sale is so very wrong.

The casual fan as you put it,were not sitting at their pc at noon on 12/15/07 trying for $115 tickets. They were shoveling snow, cleaning gutters, putting up the outside lights, buying the tree, putting up the tree, worrying about their ARM,concerned with what it will cost to heat their house in Jan/Feb+March,out sneaking around buying presents and countless other things dealing with real life.
Asking the casual fan to buy a tic or tix to a show 7 months away 9 days before XMas was the biggest screwup by the Bruce camp I have ever seen. And we`ve seen some doozies.Even his diehard fans didnt bite today.Bruce showed me what he thinks of his fans today. And its not pretty.Adding more shows today would have been a embarrassment to Bruce. Not that he cares anymore. If he did care he wouldnt have done this today.Screw him.Would it have killed him to put these on sale in March/April? No it wouldnt have. And his fans would have bought tix then.XMas would have been history.Oil prices on the down slope. Some folks would know what their tax returns would be.
Of course all this will be forgotten come July/August for some. But for me,right now,Im disgusted with Bruce and JLM for doing this at this time.
F Them !!!

You think ?

Do you think it was smart to put them on sale in the middle of Holiday Season when people have higher priorities with their $$$ than concert tickets.

They couldn't have waited until a week or 2 into January, or maybe let's say May considering the shows aren't until the end of July ?

In the end I think Mr. Springsteen and Mr. Landau received a HUGE dose of reality today.

I'm don't want to sound nasty, but how can you call someone an idiot when YOU were trying to buy crap tickets at $115 a piece today ?

Just scanning the boards, I think you can count on your fingers the amount of people that claim to get GAs today.

So you know they held back a HUGE number of the good/great seats.

This was not a good ticket day. I had GA's on my screen for Omaha, got all the way through the process and clicked the button to pay for them and was told I couldn't buy them because Omaha was a 'restricted sale' for the first 15 minutes and I lived outside the restricted sale area. By the time the 15 minutes were up, all that was left were nosebleeds.

Then I got on for Giants stadium right at 11:00 CST and got the BS 'javascript' error message. By the time I got back on my wait time was 'less than 15 minutes' and was offered nosebleeds again.

At least I saved myself some money today. Not that I wanted to.

Today was my 40th birthday and I would really have liked to treat myself to Bruce tickets but for reasons too numerous to mention (BruceNut hit on a few of them), I just couldn't do it.

I'm hoping if he adds shows it's in a few months time. Perhaps by then my financial outlook will be brighter.

All I can say is Bruce Nut is 100% correct---to put tickets on sale 8 months before a concert is to take place is supreme BS!!!!!!!! Although I disagree with nuttie on one thing, this sale was 100% geared toward the casual fan to buy these tickets for christmas. In my life, I have never seen Bruce tickets advertised on television, that is not geared for us, that is geared for mom sitting at home saying my son is a bruce fan let me get him tickets.

I don't consider myself a casual fan, but in the midst of errands, shopping, wrapping, taking my son to his basketball game, and all the other millions of things I had to do yesterday, I just totally missed the sale. Not good timing at all (unless of course you were looking for tickets as a present).

As others have said, I'm counting on additional shows/drops later next year, I don't think we'll be shut out....

I haven't posted on this or any other springsteen site for a few years (just got tired of the Internet), but I want to add something to this thread. I think one of the problems keeping people away is the parking situation at Giants Stadium. Had this been the previous tour I wouldn't have thought twice about buying tickets for multiple shows. And we always travel around and go to numerous shows. But the parking situation at Giants Stadium is horrendous now given the construction. You basically have to park in Lyndhurst, wait to be shuttled to the stadium, and then wait on line possibly several hours after the show, to be shuttled back in old yellow school buses to Lyndhurst. I'm willing to do it once. But forget multiple nights - I just don'e have the patience - and neither do my friends. And the majority of people who've been to Giants Stadium lately just won't want to be bothered. It's just not a good site for multiple shows with the current parking situation. They should have used a more fan friendly venue for these shows. I believe this is the biggest issue right now.

I agree to a point.

It won't keep me away, but it will most likely change the amount of shows I go to.

If there was only 3, I would probably go to all 3.
Now I will probably only go to one. It's too much to deal with, especially when it's a 2 hour ride there and back. Add an extra hour to get out of the lot and I won't get home until about 2:30 every morning.

But at whoz expense?

OURS
HIS FANS !

(and I dont want to hear the old "well if you cant heat your home,or pay for can ins,or get gifts for your kids, you shouldnt be buying concert tix" bs)

His casual fans and long time fans can all make moves to get to shows. But the timing of this sale blows and the financial restraints his fans feel during this time of the year far outweigh buying tix to see some money hungry aging rockstar !!
You suck Bruce !

I think Wayne hit the nail on the head.

I agree it sucks, but like they always said in the Godfather movies, its not personal, its Business!

It's a good thing the hard core fans know that they do not have to buy tickets now, unless they want to.

Is the parking situation really going to be that bad come July? I went to one show at CAA and everything was cool. Not being a football fan, I haven't had to deal with GS parking directly. Does this mean that there will be NO stadium parking, ie, no tailgating, etc?

The stadium for football is about 60% in terms of parking capacity as compared to its pre-construction days. As you get into the better weather is '08 you would think the construction will pick up and parking will be less. Right now non-permit holders drive to lots in the area and are school bussed to the stadium. The corporate lots in the area do not allow tailgaiting. That is policed fairly well.

Several things are in play here.
You cant compare Izod shows to GS shows.Izod shows are in the 18k range and GS shows are in the 45k range.
Its also not fair to compare football to concerts at GS.Football has 60k seats.Parking for the 08 GS shows will be difficult. Much harder then Izod shows but not as hard as football games. There will be stadium parking on stadium property.Just in a very limited amount. There will also be tailgating. But it will have to be behind the vehicle. Not beside it. If you have seats or plan on getting seats, your best place to park and tailgate will be
directly across from the Izod center in the open lots. Then all you`ll have to do is walk across the pedestrian walkway to get to GS. I have heard that GS plans on opening one more tiny lot on GS property in 08.
It all depends on permits.

Seating Capacity: 80,242 (2nd largest in the NFL)
So if the seating chart shows @ 65% of the seats would be sold, that is 52,000 tickets plus what they sold on the floor.
There is no way they sold all seats for all shows on Saturday.
