When you were little, did you get presents from your parents and Santa, or just Santa?
I am having a discussion with someone and they only got stuff from Santa. I thought it was weird, and was wondering how others did it.

Santa up until a certain age, and then everything came from my parents. Funny thing is, I don't remember when we were told there was no Santa.

Doesn't it defeat the purpose of Santa if you aren't getting something from your parents too to prove they are coming from two different places?

Santa brought us toys. Mom and Dad gave us clothes.
But I don't think many kids young enough to believe would bother to think that through, Katlin.

We got clothes and toys from both. Ours parents never told us there wasn't a Santa, they just let us figure it out. There was a lot of stuff our parents didn't tell us though.
I know a few people that don't do anything from Santa because they feel bad lying to their kids... since there really isn't a Santa. I can see their point, BUT every kid should believe in Santa at some point.
My parents would put the presents from them under the tree whenever, and then on Christmas day we'd either have more presents under the tree (the ones from Santa aka my mom and dad put them under the tree when we were sleeping) or a bag full of presents "that Santa left." It was pretty tight ;)

I dont think I ever TRULY believed in Santa. I just didnt get it. I mean how would he fit down the chimney? AND i didnt even HAVE a chimney as a child. Then when i was 7 I casually asked my mom if santa was real, because apparently i just really started thinking about the complete illogicness of the whole concept, i was a real deep thinker at 7. So i ask mom and my brother is right there and he says no. she obviously elbows him in the side, and says yes of course he is real! such a bad liar mom. :greyno:
But yes, we got gifts from mom and santa. Santa doesnt wrap his presents. Sometimes I still get presents from Santa.

Yeah I used to leave out cookies and milk for him lol. And we totally didn't have a chimney when we did believe there was a Santa. It was an apartment.

Santa is magic. That's all you need to know about chimneys and flying reindeer.

Even though I don't believe in Santa anymore, it's fun to be in the spirit of him again with my little cousins.
Oh, and a little tidbit...I get presents from my cats and dog.

I'm afraid this my might be my dog's last Christmas:(. He's getting old and just hasn't been himself lately. I think I'll get him an extra tube of tennis ball this year, he loves them

yeah i am certain it is mine. she had a stroke not too long ago and has been funky ever since. she was getting pretty bad before, the day we took her to the vet we were certain that we were putting her down, but the doctor just gave her a shot, some pills and now she is happily bumping into the walls and eating every thing in sight.
but she believes in santa. lol

I couldn't begin to count the number of people at work who were shopping for their pets BEFORE human members of their family, lol.
