This is what I think when I drop by the radio station to pick up my prize (2 tickets to Cincy and the Magic CD); and the young girl working the front desk asks me which prize.......I say Bruce Springsteen........She is multi-tasking and not really listening, so when she tries to confirm what I said; she says..................in all sincerity;
Bruce Springfield?:scratch:

At least I know my kids won't turn out like that! :sunny: And I am grateful to have won the tickets. Its always nice to win, even though I already had tickets, already had the CD. I did not have the Limo, though.:biggrin:

Congrats on the win, Mark!

At least she didn't say "Rick Springfield" and hand you a copy of Jesse's Girl.....

Even with all their disdain, at least MY kids know who's Bruce Springsteen... ;)

Always wondered: are radio station tickets good or muy terrible?

Typically they are good...They are usually in sections reserved for promotors, "VIPs' " etc. The ones I have received before have always been very nice...

Congrats Mark!!! This time I really have to catch up with you, and say Hi!!:biggrin:

Held Up, I know what you mean- my kids tolerate him too, but at least they know how valuable he is to music and to their Mom!!

Thanks all!

This is the second time I've won radio station tickets to see Bruce, and both times I've already had better tickets from the on-sale so I use them for friends.

I won a pair for the Reunion Tour's Louisville show. During that tour there was no GA, the floor was all assigned seating. The arena had 9 floor sections, 3 across and 3 back. The radio comps were in the first row of the middle floor section, about half court.

When I won these they first told me sec. 118, which is lower level behind the stage. When I picked them up they were sec. 105, which is lower level, in the curve near far end-line of the basketball court.

Di - hope to see you there too! I'm going to have to give the Limo ride up. I was told by the station it wouldn't be appropriate for kids....adults only.

I've never won "good" seats from a radio station...just "free" seats...so I guess I shouldn't complain...haha

Mark...which station did you win from? A Louisville one? I hardly listen to the radio anymore since I have my IPOD.

Mark...which station did you win from? A Louisville one? I hardly listen to the radio anymore since I have my IPOD.Yes, I won them from 107.7, which I think is WSFR-Louisville....."Classic Rock", whatever that is. I don't really listen to the station, but I did sign up for their weekly newsletter; which is how I found about the contest. The only station I listen to in Louisville is WFPK - 91.9. It's a AAA format, public radio, they get The World Cafe; so its a good station. I just get the newsletters from 95.7, 102.3 and 107.7. That way I can keep up with any cool contests.:biggrin:

I'm signed up on those stations too...along with WAMZ. I do like 107.7 though and listen to it when I'm in Louisville(it doesn't always come in real clear here) and don't have my IPOD with me.Congratulations on your win!
