"If there was no Britney, would all Web traffic stop?" asks Vera Chan, senior editor at Yahoo. "I would hesitate to give her that much power, but it's hard to argue with the facts."

The article is really about "The Britney Economy".
They talk about how much money the media, her record label, and the paparazzi makes off Britney.
It also mentions that Blackout sold well despite her troubles, which is how it should be anyway... but still.

It makes me sick though, all this fame and popularity for what? She is losing her sanity and yet all people can think about is the money?

Everyone is getting sick of her in the news, we all know she has cracked up - there is no need to keep putting in on the front of every magazine. If there was no Britney may those people would actually start focusing on REAL breaking news.

Well it still leaves the 2/3 traffic that comes from file sharing.

Sad how they talk about her "power", she has no power, not even the power to take control of her own and her kids' lives.
