It sounds more and more like NYC Mayor Bloomberg is seriously considering making a run as an Independent, but as of yet, it doesn't sound like anyone is supporting or trying to block him.
In recent years, the Democrats had Nader as a distraction while the Republicans Buchanan. Each side tried to get one on the ballot while keeping the other off. But again, it doesn't sound like either side has started dealing with this yet.
Who would Bloomberg hurt most? He won New York as a Republican, but was pretty quick to switch out. For that matter, he really only became a Republican so he could have a major party's backing. He is though a big business man, and is the Bloomberg of Bloomberg business/broadcasting and news.
