Great article. I'm 16, so I've never been to a Bruce show before 2007, and it was pretty damn awesome to me. I'm on my way again tomorrow night. I really think people need to stop complaining and going in with expectations... just enjoy the music.

agreed - and good for you!! there were 2 young guys 2 rows in front of me in Hartford Thurs night and they were having such a good time. I wish I would've talked to them after the show, they were a joy to watch, I'd say they were somewhere between 14 & 16 -it's great to see the younger fans appreciating the music

It's so weird to me... Bruce, to me, is just regular music. Most of my friends are into top 40 stuff today: pop, and rap and all that. But I grew up on Bruce from my parents, so I own every album and DVD and a bunch of boots. I only know one or two other people my age going to the show tomorrow night. I'm actually going with my uncle and aunt, and some of their friends (all much older than I am). But once I heard Bruce and got into stuff like Jungleland and The Promise and Incident, there was just no going back to stuff like Daughtry

I'll be 24 in June (we aint all that young anymore)I first saw Bruce in 92 at the Meadowlands then in 95 at Count Basie warming up for the Tom Joad tour. I didnt get an E ST Band concert until July 18 of 99. No it's not 78 again. It's 08 and the band sounds the best sonicly and vocally it ever has, I have the boots to tell. Bruce is writing some of his best stuff (starting with the Rising) and some of his older songs around better now than they ever did. He did Incident at the now IZOD on 10-10 and it sounded better than 9-20-78 and better than the album track. WE AINT ALL THAT YOUNG ANYMORE...it's true...I perfer this Bruce and the Band more than 78. Yeah it was magical I'm sure it was but the Magic tour is more than Magical. I wish I could play 2 and a half hours of rock at 58. I can barely do it now at 23. I dont feel like Ive been cheated at all. Ive seen Loose Ends, I Wanna Be With You, Rosie, Incident, Another Thin Line, Code of Silence, Cynthia, Spirit (w\Vini Lopez on drums Giant Stadium 03), Quarter to Three, Twist and Shout, Blood Brothers twice, the world preimier of Your Own Worst Enemy, Freehold, Trapped, E St Shuffle, Lost In the Flood into USA, THe Promise, 7 Nights, Where the Bands Are, Hungry Heart, the E St I Wish of I Were Blind, Back In Your Arms, Highway 61, Johnny 99, Roulette, Tunnel of Love, Jersey Girl and Book of Dreams. Ive seen Bruce live Aug 2-92; Nov 22-95; Jul 18-99; Jul 1-00; Jul 17-03; Jul 21-03; Oct 4-03; and Oct 10; 07. I'm going again on Jul 27 and I cant wait.

Well put. Not much else to say. Except I envy all those shows you've been to. I'm just going on number two tomorrow night.
