View Full Version : What's next for the Democrats?

So, what happens now? That seems to be the question.
Assuming nothing catastrophic happens to blow either of the candidates out of the water, do you think this race will go all the way to the convention?
Do you believe superdelegates will choose the nominee?
Do you think the DNC will be pushing the candidates to reach some kind of compromise before the convention in order to focus on beating McCain?
Do you see an Obama/Clinton ticket or a Clinton/Obama ticket? Would they (should they?) choose one another as a running mate?
Who has the best chance of beating McCain, or is the Democrat's momentum so strong that it wouldn't matter?
What do you see happening in the next weeks? months?

The big question is who will Edwards endorse. He has a small handful of delegates in his pocket, not to mention would add some punch to either candidate. We may have to wait until the convention for that... He could be the swing vote and wait to see who offers him more.
Otherwise, the two are slated for Celebrity Deathmatch in June. :p

LOL @ celebrity deathmatch *snickers*
I think first of all they need to quit sniping at each other like kids on a school playground. They need to concentrate on the issues and illuminate the differences between themselves and McCain.
Another question from today ... do you think the endorsement of McCain by Dubya will hurt or help the Republican nominee?

Given Bush's extremely low popularity, I'd say that McCain's photo op with him will be used to hammer home the "McCain - More Of The Same" message. More Iraq, more deficit, more lobbyists, more of everything that the majority of Americans are sick of.

What's next for the Democratic Party?
Hopefully they will bicker and fight and argue all the way to Denver...and beyond. :D

I think most republicans dont even like McCain, they just vote for their party because they dont like Obama or Clinton either.

Definitely think Edwards' endorsement will carry some weight, as will Al Gore's. Both have been silent in all this, and I heard on the news the other day that they've actually been advised by the DNC to wait, and let this play out awhile. Many super delegate endorsements are also waiting. I think both of those things will be interesting to watchin the next couple months.
