It named one of my dad's friends (mind you, only a handful of people even know that my dad is friends with this guy- he lives across the country and they see each other rarely) and said that the friend had gotten a serious disease and was admitted to hospital (it specified a unit at a large hospital). The letter was addressed to my mom, which was kind of odd.
When my dad called his friend they found out that he's perfectly healthy. Then they called the hospital and the unit mentioned in the letter was a psych ward

In this case would that by psycho ward or psychic, for knowing your dad's friend existed and the friendship et. al.?

I got a letter addressed to my great grandpa. They were wanting to buy our 90 acres of land. It was one of those big real estate companies that obviously are not local or do any research. I called them and let them know he has been dead for a very, very long time and that we are never interested in selling and I better never recieve a letter like that again.
Although, they were offering a lot of money.

Har har.
My parents said that they'll report it to the police if they get any more weird mail. The postal stamp shows that it was sent by someone in our vicinity though.

Out of the blue, I was contacted by some guy on MySpace who claimed to be my next door neighbor's long-lost cousin (my neighbor just happens to be a pretty well known jazz keyboardist). This guy wanted to know if I knew how to contact him. Uh huh.
Weirder than that... it really was his cousin. lol

Haha, why did he contact you and not his cousin? lol

His cousin is kind of the black sheep of the family, a bit on the nutty side, from what Ron tells me. He didn't know exactly where Ron was living and I think he was afraid to contact any of the family. lol I have Ron listed as a "favorite musician," and since I live in the same area of Florida that Ron lives, I guess he just took a lucky shot.
