Oh, look at this! Mrs. Clinton is now backing off a statement she made last year about how backward Mississippi is concerning "the progress of women". Now that Mrs. "Inevitable" desperately needs all the votes she can get she's singing a different tune. She sure has learned well from her husband---deny, deny, deny.

Mrs. Clinton figures she needs to go down there and set things right with those stump-toothed-sister-marryin'-pickup truck-drivin' Mississippians. Afterall, they're just too darn dumb to really know what she meant, right?

Obama has Mississippi locked up!

:D   :funny: :]

Obama Airs Radio Ad Slamming Clinton Slap at Mississippi

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Democratic presidential contender Hillary Rodham Clinton tried to backpedal Friday from comments she made in October suggesting Mississippi was a backward place for women's progress.

Speaking to radio station WJZD-FM in Gulfport, Miss., the former first lady said the comments she made about the state in the run up to the Iowa caucuses "were not exactly what I said," even though they came directly from an interview she gave to the Des Moines Register in October.

Clinton was on a campaign swing through Mississippi before Tuesday's Democratic presidential primary.

The newspaper quoted the New York senator discussing Iowa and Mississippi being the only states that have never elected a woman governor or sent a woman to Congress.

"How can Iowa be ranked with Mississippi? That's not what I see. That's not the quality. That's not the communitarianism; that's not the openness I see in Iowa," Hillary Clinton told the newspaper then—a remark that prompted immediate criticism from Mississippi Republicans.

Rival Barack Obama has been running radio ads in Mississippi calling Clinton's comments insulting to the state.

In all honesty, her comments about Mississippi were not the smartest thing she's ever said, regardless of how poor that state's track record on civil rights is.

But really, it's a non-issue for anyone capable of independent thought who lives in any of the other 49 states. Mississippi will probably go with the Republican side anyway.

I don't know, pinky. Maybe Mississippi will surprise us this year and turn out the Democrat vote. I think we'll see a few states turn blue this November.

She keeps reminding me...there is hope in Mississippi...there are democrats down there.

I thought I was alone in being a blue person in this red state of Arizona in which I reside. However, when I went to the Barack Obama rally ... I was AMAZED at how many people are blue like me! I felt all warm and squishy inside *sighs*

Blue rules! Red drools! :]
