For two days in a row now, I seem to be squeaking when I walk. It sounds like it's coming from my pocket, but I can't figure out what it is!

That happened to me once. It turned out to be my shoes. :nc:

It's not the shoes, it's higher up my body.

Mine was too, I thought my pants were somehow squeaking and I kept checking my pockets and belt, but it turned out to be my shoes, I guess maybe the sound vibrated and echoed up or something. It was the pump thing in the heel of my shoe, it had busted.

We don't squeak but apparently the click clack of our heels annoy some.

True. We clack, but we don't squeak. No sqeaking. We especially don't squeak in our pants.

Try checking your belt buckle. I have had the hinge on mine squeak before.

I checked that too. Wasn't that.
The last two days were jeans, today I'm wearing cargo pants. Let's see if that makes a difference. I didn't notice a sound this morning yet, but the day is young and the walk to the restroom is long enough.

Apparently we don't have the ability to squeak lol :o Just curious if Dave squeaked in his cargo pants yesterday?

The pants seemed quiet, but the stiff leather jacket I was wearing filled the void nicely.

Mar 13th, 2008, 05:11 PM
Well at least you weren't wearing leather pants. Chaffing is a lot worse than squeaking lol

At the risk of comletely ruining the punchline, what does chaffing mean?
princess_bee
Mar 14th, 2008, 12:19 AM
Chaffing is caused by (for example) when your legs rub together and cause the skin to chaffe (turn red, blister etc). Therefore, squeaking is by FAR better than chaffing ;)

Today I wasn't squeaking that I could tell. But I was clicking. And no, not from high heels. One of the buttons on my jacket came undone.
I wear too much noisy clothing.

Oooh! I like that tempest grade brainwave shield he's wearing that has a directional porthole for allowing only one alien at a time to read his mind. What an absolutely stunning invention!

Yeah, laugh it up you young'uns. When you get to this age, DES and I will laugh at you. Well, DES may not squeak, but I'll let her laugh anyway.

Im gonna be 30, so trust me, my body aches sometimes. I blame all the physical activities and sports for that.

At just 30?

I never used to have aches, but the ER kicks my butt. Some nights I come home and feel 90.

At just 30?
Yes. I"ve had some injuries to my body that I think hurt me more than I thought. Even though the injuries were taken care of, I knew years later I would start feeling some deep pain from them as I aged. Its nothing major that I cant deal with, but it is annoying and makes me feel older than I am.

Hey!
If I did, at least I wouldnt talk about it publically! Thats just gross. Seriously, who wants to hear about grandma and grandpa doing the nasty?!
db44
Mar 22nd, 2008, 06:14 PM
I'm sure there's a market for it. Somewhere. Besides, these days we're seeing more grandparents in their 40s... Social commentary aside, and your pet peeves as well, that ain't bad.
tiger_rascal
Mar 22nd, 2008, 07:29 PM
Well, if teenagers keep having babies, and their children have babies at that age, and their kids... well, you get the point. If that happens, we are going to see some children getting to see their great, great grandparents!!!
pinky
Mar 23rd, 2008, 10:47 AM
Hey, Dave, my parents became grandparents at 43 and 47, back in the '50s. It's not new. I think when it happens in the mid-thirties that it's a problem, though.
DoubleEdgeSword
Mar 23rd, 2008, 12:26 PM
Seems to be the norm where I live. I'm seeing lots of grannies in their 30s. Kids having kids seems to be heriditary in some families. Think about a great grandmother of 45. Dang. And Aunts younger than than their nieces.
db44
Mar 23rd, 2008, 02:18 PM
I don't doubt it... But considering Chad's apparent image, I figured I'd throw it out there as an "it's not that old" answer. Think of it, you can have grandkids and still be poppin' out your own... Having kids younger than your grandkids? :susp2:
True dat about in your mid 30s though.

Mar 23rd, 2008, 07:50 PM
Oh yeah, kids younger than your grandkids! That happened last night with one of my patients. The patient had an 18-year-old daughter with a 2 year-old son, and then the patient just had a baby who is now five months old. So her grandbaby is older than her own baby.

My aunt had a daughter when her grandson was almost 2 years old. Of course, that was back in the 50s when people tended to have larger families, and spread their childbearing years out over a longer period. I think her daughter was about 18 or so when the grandson was born.
I was only 5 when my nephew was born.

Hey Dave, did you ever figure out what the source of your squeak was?
