Celebrity gossip website TMZ is reporting (http://www.tmz.com/2008/03/11/janet-feels-too-nasty-for-snl) that Janet has cancelled her appearance on this Saturday's episode of Saturday Night Live due to her recent illness. She was scheduled to be the musical guest on this weekend's episode.

No official announcements have been made yet.

UPDATE: Janet's publicist Patti Webster has confirmed in an e-mail to the Associated Press (http://www.showbuzz.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/03/11/ap/tv/main3927391.shtml) that Janet has pulled out of this weekend's scheduled SNL performance due to her illness:

"Janet did go to the hospital last night due to the fact she's been suffering from this flu that's kicked a lot of people's behinds," publicist Patti Webster told The Associated Press in an e-mail. "She was never admitted and she is fine."

Still, Webster said Jackson - who visited a Los Angeles hospital - was pulling out of the March 15 "SNL" telecast because "she needs some time to get better."

"SNL" spokesman Marc Liepis said he did not know what music act will replace Jackson.
