Apple Cinema Display / Mac book pro ?

I have a question for any Mac Book pro users who might also have a secondary monitor they use for editing. The hubby and I have a macbook pro and have recently purchased the 30 inch Apple Cinema Color Display monitor. He dabbles in photo editing and we know boys and their toys ;) Anyways, he just got the Spyder Suite 2 color calibration program which adjusts and fixes the colors on your monitor / laptop. Issue is, the colors are super vivid and bright on the Cinema Display and look like the colors displayed on the LCD screen of the DSLR camera he uses. However, on the macbook pro, in comparison they are flat and dull. We did the color calibration on both, but there is still this huge difference. Is it possible that the settings on the macbook are off and need to be adjusted? Anyone know how to go about doing this, or is this something I need to take to applecare?
