Arthur C. Clarke, probably best-known for the 2001 series of books (and two movies), has passed away. He was 90. As a sci-fi fan, what I liked about a lot of his stuff (especially 2001) was that it was sci-fi with sci-reality strongly present. Childhood's End was interesting, looking at the potential of human growth. Once he started a saga, others would pick up on it, i.e. 2001, Rama. Still, the essence stayed true to his visions.

Go in peace, A.C. Clarke.
