She also collaborated with Spears and helped co-write the chorus to the hit single Everytime, which became an international hit.
This means that Britney, alone, wrote the verses to 'Everytime' and that Annette Artani(back up singer) only assisted her with the chorus.
I didn't know this, but I thought it was kool.

How is this different than most songs with co-writers? She wrote part of it, that's great.

When most of todays artist get credit for 'co-witting' it seems to be more of a marketing scheme where the artist is allowed to edit someone elses finished product for the purpose of getting credit as a writer.
With todays artists, I think its pretty rare if their writing contribution is greater than that of the other co-writer(s)-- there is also usually more than two co-writers getting credit.
Annette Artani is not really a professional writer either and it would probably be safe to assume that the only major artist writing contribution she did was for 'Everytime'.
I'm guessing she met Britney during her DWAD tour as a background singer, became friends and Britney asked for her input on the chorus.
'Everytime' was probably written around the same time Britney started performing her other personal songs like "You were my home" and "Mystic Man" on the DWAD tour.
The song is so sweet and simple. It makes perfect sense that Britney wrote it all by herself.

I like "Everytime". Our local radio stations actually still play it.
The remixes are good for a ballad.

I love this song, it's my favorite ballad of hers. Just a quick question though.. Since when is wikipedia a credible source? :susp2:
You guys probably already know, but Britney did write "Someday" all by herself and that's another song of hers I really, liked.

But what is there to doubt? This other co-writer isn't a professional writer, she was back up singer for Britney during the year Britney performed all those other personal songs on tour and she has co-written no other songs for a major artist except for Britney.
I would go as far to say that Britney tossed her a bone by allowing her to add input on her WorldWide hit single. Either that or JIVE simply didn't want Britney get the full writing credit for promotional reasons. ( it would make the song seem a little too personal for a dance artist like Britney)
Is Britneys serious about the stuff she sings about or is it just a song? Britney can't be serious!!.. or is she?!
Personally, I love how Jive masks her skills. She can keep doing the same thing for ever but with a new title because we don't really know what we're hearing.lol

I've seen interviews of Annette, and she practically said Britney wrote the entire song, and she helped Britney with the melody a little bit.

Her history or lack of in the department means nothing to me and doesn't take away from what she could've contributed to the song. Britney had not written a song entirely before on her albums that I know of and was definitely not a professional songwriter herself, so I wouldn't discredit this woman's possible input here.
And if the bolded is true, that's just stupid. I would think that her management would've wanted to shake the opinions of most that thought she was a talentless puppet and show that she has versatility as an artist. She was trying to grow as an artist on this record, right? Become more than just a dance artist. A bubble gum pop star? It would've been a great way to broaden her fan base and listeners. Either way, it's a beautiful, well written song that's still in heavy rotation on my Itunes. :hat:

As a fan of Britney, I did not want to her to just pop up one day and get 'serious'. To me, that would be fake and I would look at her as I do the rest of her pop peers who are desperately trying to gain respect as an artist who write their own music and sings about emotional things in their lives. Its too contrived and comes off as fake.
In my eyes, Jive has been trying to keep her away from that path even though Britney, herself, clearly wants to jump out there. They see the bigger picture and know that she is talented enough to hold on her own when the time is right... but its not now.
I'm an adult, so I am aware that 99% of pop artist are puppets to their label and their shouts for independence are only attention seeking words that their labels told them to shout. There is no real when its comes to these pop stars, but I do believe that JIVE is grooming Britney into becoming a sincere artist - unlike the rest.

Also probably my fav. Britney song. I think it is really beautiful, and I loved the video clip too, even though it was quite sad and disturbing, but I liked it because I think it was really quite honest in what it reflected of Britney's life. Kind of like Piece of Me video clip but more effective.

she should do another song like this for her next cd, a sinister type ballad with a bigass video.
