Reid, Pelosi, Dean may intervene in nomination

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Thursday that he may have to push undecided superdelegates to make their decisions in the Democratic presidential race, if the contest stretches into June.

Reid said he would consider writing a joint letter with Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) demanding that superdelegates make their endorsements public.

“The three of us, we may write a joint letter [to superdelegates],” said Reid. “We might do individual letters. We are in contact with each other.”

Reid's comments suggest that the party’s top three officials are contemplating a high-level intervention if the primary season concludes in June without a nominee and many superdelegates still undecided.

I think this is a good idea. We need a candidate well before the Convention at the end of August. The last primary is in June. These people need to make up their minds.

They should be using their position to FORCE some one into making a decision like this. If I'm correct, the superdelegates have until the week of the convention to make up their minds and they have every right to do so. I'd say leave the super delegates alone and they will give their decision when they feel ready to do so. If that is the night before the convention, then so be it. the DNC had to be patient and wait it out. This is like Pelosi forcing all of you to make your decision in Sept instead of Nov. That is NOT right and I feel they are abusing their position in office.
