"On the road to Basra stood young Lt. Jimmy Bligh..."
I LOVE that song. Great opener and another solid tribute song to Danny.

1. Souls of the Departed ROCKED! Very cool to hear that for the first time.
2. WBCS - Bruce talked for awhile about Danny and told the story that's posted on bs.net from his eulogy about Danny's car with the marijuana plant inside getting towed. Since my first show was in 2002, it was great for me to hear Bruce spend more than a few seconds talking and telling stories.
3. Prove It - Nils was ON FIRE. Best guitar work I ever heard on an extended solo at the end.
4. Darlington was from a sign held by a 10-12ish y/o girl. One side of the sign said "I like u way more than Hannah Montana." The other side said "Darlington Country Please." Then she got to take Nils's seat next to Bruce for the end, and got to sing the "Sha-la-la's"
5. LITF (the original LITF) was a first for me as well. It felt like most of the crowd didn't know it, but I loved hearing it. Max ripped the snare on the "5 quick shots..." line.
6. Maybe they've been doing this for awhile, but they extended Long Walk Home a bit, and Steve took some lead vocals. They were getting the crowd's arms waving and Steve was chanting and riffing on "long walk home"
7. I'm getting spoiled. Thunder Road two shows in a row :)
8. They NAILED Kitty's Back. Roy played for-ever!
9. Someone from the Sessions Band played guitar on American Land. Frank someone, I think. Charlie G. was introduced as, "Charlie Giordano from the Sessions Band."
It was an awesome show overall. Bruce had a great time. Nils was on fire. Steve was doing even more mugging for the crowd than usual.

The show was more loose and had a celebration feeling. The songs and banter were much more about having fun and less heaviness of heart. more smiles than tears tonight

Did anyone notice last night that Clarence totally missed his solo during Badlands. He was sitting in his chair and it was time for his solo and he wasnt ready. Bruce was cracking up and the band covered up real well. After the solo, Bruce gave C a big hug and he was grinning ear to ear. Great show.
Thats all.

Yes! That was classic. There were some looks in his direction when they didn't hear the sax, but the band just kept on going to wait for him. :)

Nils was on fire.
He is always on fire. I remember seeing him during the December 2000 Christmas shows in Convention Hall. He did his own "Shine Silently" and the solo he played with all those signature fingertip harmonics was like an out-of-body experience. The shame of it was that most of the audience didn't "get it" and barely acknowledged him. Check out his 2 record solo live LP "Night After Night" for some other fantastic playing.

Thanks, I definitely will check those out.
I've always really enjoyed his times to shine at the shows I've been to, but I always seemed to miss some of his biggest moments. Last night's Prove It was sick.

I just checked DIME for the Charlotte show and didn't find it. Has anyone seen it?
There was a taper in my row, so I'm hoping he shared :)
