Here is my short review of Greensboro. This has been an amazingly blessed week for me. Personally both these shows hold alot of meaning for me. On the Rising tour Greensboro was the first show that I was ever in the pit and that experience blew me away and reawakened me to the power of Bruce & the E street band. Also, it is where my best Bruce buddy met his wife who was in front of us in line. It was a great show with a great crowd. I really really wanted my wife to get a glimpse of why I love shows so much by getting her in the pit. We also have a history with Bruce going back to the eigthies. So, we drove down from charlottesville and stood out in the rain (just like on the rising tour) I met up with the usual fans I see on these south east coast legs. We hung with my buddy and his wife, who were glowing from the Charlotte show the night before. We got our bracelets met up with friends and went out to this crappy pizza place and had a blast eating and drinking and telling stories and laughing. Well long story short all twelve of us got in the pit. We danced and sang, shouted and pumped our fists in the air. We cheered and hugged each other. It was so much fun and best of all my wife had a fantastic time! On to the show....Bruce came out ready to rock and set the tone by opening with not one but two raritities before radio nowhere (Roulette & Don't Look Back) both tour premieres. He rocked out till Magic. then a great version of Gypsy Biker with him and Steven trading firey guitar licks. Digs back for Saint in the City just nailing it. I really wanted to hear Trapped and I got it next. And it sounded oh so good. Next Because the night really stood out rockin hard as Nils took an exciting solo that had the arena roaring. Mary's Place, a tour premiere, last played I guess six years ago really worked well with the audience. I really like Steven's soulful vamping vocals on long walk home. Then a beautiful Backstreets ( love this one) We all went nuts when we saw Bruce mouthing Ramrod and , what fun that was with Bruce stealing Clarence's BIG hat and strutting around. Then Him and Steve doing the funny Bosstime routine. My only gripe is always ending with American Land. I get why Bruce is doing this but, it still doesn't quite feel right. By the end of the night we were exhausted and horse but with big grins on our faces. It was a long, late tiring ride home, but so worth it.

Bill's Pizza Pub?

Yeah, that right! Man, they just heat up frozen pizzas don't they? No matter it was the company that we were with and not the place that matters.

I haven't been there since the mid-80's. Used to be a well-known beer drinkin' establishment for the area's youth back in the day.
