One of two definite must-sees for myself is out this weekend. I got my fedora out... Unfortunately my brown leather jacket is back east.

And don't bother asking about my whip. :blueeek:

It's good. I totally didn't expect what happened with the Crystal Skull. That's all I'm saying as I don't want to spoil it. ;)

I remain fairly spoiler free and ready to see the movie tomorrow, even going against my friend's advice who insists that we celebrate her last day of college, ever. But that evil agent Cate plays in the movie seems to be messing up with my Internet. It's either that or they're sold out for most of today's viewings already. Now the website is saying their ticket system is down, so I don't know. I need to sleep anyhow, so maybe I'll trust to hope and when I wake up tickets will be available.

But what if it's sold out? It could happen. The entire first week of Episode I was sold out in advance in a few theaters here back in 1999.

I wanna see Indiana Jones today!!! :hat:

It is good, but not great.

You could say that about the whole series. Definitely first-day worthy, all of them, if not Star Wars stature.

Opening scene
No one stages a chase sequence quite like Spielberg
The Kaminski effect
Some good gags (some of which went sadly unnoticed by the majority of the people in the theater)
Cate kicks butt as Spalko
Lucas got the aliens in
The Supernatural
Feels closer to Raiders than the 2 previous sequels?
I need to see it again!

Early Thursday box office #'s:

26m for Indy 4 (including 4.5m midnight)

Some people seem to have been expecting a Sith-like opening. IMO, the comparison is kind of totally off and borderline ridiculous.

Indy's off to a great start!

You could say that about the whole series.
I disagree. Raiders was great.

Raiders was the best I'd say.

I was not impressed with this one, although I'm glad I saw it. It's worth seeing once. But it missed I felt the fights and action of the others, and it joined two parts of sci-fi/fantasy which really shouldn't have been.

I did like some of the connections to 20th century pop and overall culture, i.e. everything in Nevada.

It also felt much more watered-down-for-children. i.e. what I call the A-Team phenomenom: Vehicles crash, but nobody dies... Few deaths, not that I was rooting for them, but it felt less serious than the other movies in the series.

I think Spielberg relished in a few of those deaths that take place in the movie. Some were very Raider's like in their style, if not in the execution.

I thought the plot was odd (definitely not a fan of the whole ending because it didn't seem like it went with Indy), but it was great to see another Indy movie and it was pretty fun and entertaining.

I had never seen the others till a few weeks ago and friend made me watch them before I went to see the new one.

It was good, a feel good, totally for the audience movie. I loved it though.

I'll probably see it at least once more before it leaves the theatres.
