Which are you more passionate about?
Personally, I love the HP movies because I admire the actors and I think the films are really well done. Plus, I started out seeing the movies before I read the books, but I devour those too.

I love the movies, the actors all totally fit the characters they play. Especially have to express my love of the Weasley twins since the Phelps brothers are such nice guys.
But the books are definitely my favorite. Minus the seventh book, which I refuse to ever read again and do not like AT ALL.

May I ask why? I think the last book will at least make one heck of a film(s).

Sigh, where do I begin? I just do not like any aspect of it. The battle is great I give it that. But I just do not like the 7th book.

The books FTW.
I love the movies, it's what got me into the fandom but the books are just beyond amazing.

The books, of course. The first 2 movies were just not good enough, Azkaban reached some heights that the series has never seen again, the 4th movie wasn't so bad, but the last one was a mess, it lacked cohesiveness and structure. It was like a bunch of scenes tacked on to a musical score. I know I say I'm done with the movies each time one comes out, but I really can't see myself sitting through another one of these movies. And that's sad cuz I would love it if there was a great movie for the Half-Blood Prince.

I would say both, just because, I'm a movie freak, and I love them as a stand alone part of the fandom and I absolutely love the books, JKR did an awesome job writing those.
So, for me it's both.

The books.
I hate how the add lines/scenes in the movies that arent in the book. That's mainly why I can't re watch the movies, I sit and glare and point out the mistakes, added lines, added scenes and Nigel.

The book is usually better. They never seem to be able to recreate the mood or atmosphere of the book when they make a movie. Best example is FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC for me. The book was completely awesome and the movie was completely terrible.

The books. The only movies out of all of them I don't mind watching over and over again are the 3rd and 4th one.
I was a little disappointed with DH as well and all the romance crap in HBP.
