View Full Version : Factual Essay: Why did Eggtina FAIL?

Hemingway

I've been figuring it out in my head. Didn't her stans say back in '00 that she would 'last the mile' yet she has just become totally irrelevant and nobody talks about her no more. Its kinda like how Hillary Swank may have as many Oscars as she wants but its Angelina Jolie that everyone wants a piece of at the end of the day, and its Angelina who will be remembered in years down the line. :)
Eggtinas peers keep shutting her down:

Britney had a mental collapse this year yet still managed 3 top 20 worldwide hits

Mariah is in her 19th year in the business and still had a larger opening than Christina, and Mimis voice is not what it used to be.

Jessica Simpson keeps coming back, every second album of hers bombs but she reinvents herself and comes back successful.

Madonnas album has sold over 2 million already.

All was going well in Christinas camp until she decided to take a 4 year break after her hit Stripped album to try and create a 'throwback' record. The result was an ultimate failure. Half of the songs on it were not even throwback but were bland contemporary RnB. Her label clearly had no interest in the album and Christina seemed to lose focus artistically creating it. Then she went off and settled down to have kids to be forgotten about forever. The End.

Her work is too avarage. I was disappointed with BTB and with her. After 4 years you'd expect something great and all she could come up with was an avarage album and an ok tour.

It's really sad that Beyonce in two weeks created a better album than her. And that Britney being the mess she was able to outdo Christina's work with no problem.

She doesn't have anything to make her stand out more than the others ladies. She doesn't got the best voice, she is not a great performancer, she doesn't even have the best material. She's just avarage.

Back To Basics would have been great if she had taken off the RnB songs and put them out as a seperate album during the 4 year wait.

I don't think she flopped. She wasn't riding the top of the charts and stuff but she didn't flop.

Not in my opinion anyway.

B2B would be considered a mediocre success if it were released in between regular big relelases. but waiting 3-4 years each side of it is laughable.

Britney had a mental collapse this year yet still managed 3 top 20 worldwide hits
So? Ain't No Other Man went to #2 (AND won a Grammy), Hurt went to #4, and Candyman went to #13 on the world chart. So Christina had two top 5's, and one top 20.

Mariah is in her 19th year in the business and still had a larger opening than Christina, and Mimis voice is not what it used to be.
Mariah had a #1 hit to contribute to her bigger opening numbers, which Christina did not.

On the United WW chart Mariah debuted w/ 617,000, and Christina debuted w/ 615,000.

Wow, Christina must not be such a flop after all if she's only 2000 copies behind the biggest selling female artist in the business. :susp:

Jessica Simpson keeps coming back, every second album of hers bombs but she reinvents herself and comes back successful.
Bringing Jessica Simpson into this is irrelevant and laughable. :hah:

Madonnas album has sold over 2 million already.
Two million after two singles!? Wow, Christina managed to pull the same stunt and she's not Madonna!

All was going well in Christinas camp until she decided to take a 4 year break after her hit Stripped album to try and create a 'throwback' record. The result was an ultimate failure.
Totally a failure. I mean, 4.5 million sold, debuted at #1 in 15 countries, 4 Grammy nominations and 1 win (BTB won 15 awards in total including 2 from Rolling Stone, 2 from NRJ, 1 from iTunes for Best Album, and 1 EMA), the highest grossing female tour of 2007, and BTB also managed to beat out Stripped & CA for a place on EW's Top Albums of the past 25 years.

I don't understand why you hate on Christina so much, especially when half the sh*t you're saying is inaccurate? :greyno:

its pretty obvious. Christina is like the best thing to NEVER happen, she had it all and threw it all away. The voice and stage performer but blew it on an 7 year absense in her 20s of all times with the exception of a lameass 'throwback' record that essentially lost her 60% of her fanbase :noway:

Where on Earth are you getting this "7 year absence" nonsense from???

She just finished her tour last summer. She hasn't been working much since then, but at least she's keeping her name out there more than last time.

well it will be a 7 year absense from releasing anything other than B2B by the time the next record comes out. And in your 20s you are supposed to build your collection of hits that will make you who you are. B2B only had 3 singles and 2 flopped. She really has nothing going for her anymore, its a shame that she was too up her own ass to ever have a substantial career. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

Britney had a mental collapse this year yet still managed 3 top 20 worldwide hits

Two top 5 hits + a top 20 that she co-wrote and co-prouced > Three top 20 hits that Britney had nothing to do with.

I swear some of your arguments make absolutely no sense. You're using the fact that Britney had three top 20 hits (which is not even impressive) to say she's musically relevant, but you're saying Christina's over when she not only doubled the amount Britney sold, had bigger hits, and also had a HUGE mostly sold out world tour, four Grammy nods and another win, the best reviewed work of her career and most importantly more industry respect. No offense, but you such a ****ed up view of the industry. Do you not care about artistry at all?
