O/T Mandy Moore? She was too smart for her age...

She came out when she was like 16 years old and she seemed more grounded than any of those other girls. She talked about being more in control of her music and admitting that she hated her first album cause shes not that into pop music....

I remember watching and being like... "stfu, you're young, hott, you can sing pretty, some strings were pulled(blow jobs) and thats why you got a record deal!"... child celebrities annoy the hell out of me. :laugh:

But her voice is so pretty. After she made those flop movies, what happened to her?

But Mandy Moores "Candy" was so sweet and so was the video. I liked everything about Mandy, but her interviews made her seem like one of those know it all kids.lol

Mandy wasn't willing to take off the clothes and be as image driven as popular music requires and I really don't think she even enjoys the tremendous amounts of fame a lot of the other stars have. She seems really comfortable and content as an unpopular starlet as long as she's still working.
She's starred in 5 films in 2007, and after battles with her label which eventually led to being dropped, she did her own thing and funded her own album. The last one "Wild Hope" she and Rachael Yagamata completed the album themselves. They paid for studio time and she was finally able to make something that she felt represented her and what she stands for. Yeah, it was a huge flop, but it's by far her best album I was happy she finally got around to recording something that she was happy with. She finally got to tour as well. She found her niche in the entertainment world as an actress. She can really act and has an accomplished career as an actress. Here's all the ones released in 07'. The last three are indie projects. I love her so much. :love:

Yea, you're right. I don't think it would've worked for her because shes so in-control of herself that she'd come off being a slutty b/tch like Willa Ford if she were forced to skank it up. I don't really care for Mandy but her voice has such a soft pretty melody.

I liked her her first album (or was it her second?) when I was a kid and then forgot about her until "A Walk To Remember". I saw it in theaters and when she sang "Only Hope" on stage, I swear I wanted to be her. :cry: lol

She is the definition of a person who tries way too hard and fails miserably as a result. Circa 2001 (when she released her self-titled third album) she was on top of her game artistically. Of all the blonde pop girls, she had the best album--"In My Pocket" was genius.

However, her self-depricating personality made her look weak, and her folk music made her unlistenable.

I like Mandy alot. She was always very well adjusted, she was just like one of your best girlfriends who happened to make movies and music.

She never took herself too seriously.

She does have a really pretty voice. Never went much on her and then she won me over when I saw her sing 'Only Hope' in AWTR. And I LOVE her version of Rhianna's 'Umbrella.'

Never have been astounded by her acting or movies but she always does a decent job. Good for her.
